It seems that every few years Houston gets a team that runs up video game scores on weak teams...then gets into a bowl game against a 6-5 team from a major conference and gets blown off the field.  Then the QB graduates, gets cut from the NFL, cut from the CFL, and is platooned with another QB in the Arena League.  Meanwhile, within two years, Houston is back to the 1-10/2-9 range.

Jealous?

There are things and people in this world which inspire jealous emotions in me.  The Houston Cougars football team does not fall into that category.

Dominating Conference USA is much like being the finest hockey player in all of Ecuador.

You play?  I only ask based on your referring to the team in the first person.

I have followed Virginia Tech and UNC since I was a lad, so no, Houston has not overcome either team in recent memory.

Just because something is "common" doesn't make it right.

Tech is quite relevant in college football.  Houston hasn't been relevant since they blew a 34-12 lead in the 1979 Cotton Bowl.

Referring to a favorite team's accomplishments in the first person is pathetic.

Va Tech still outranks UH in all polls.  Perhaps when UH wins more than 6 games for more than a year or two in a row, they will be more highly regarded.

Wrong board.  I've seen on the Sports Board that guys can vigorously debate without feeling butthurt.  On the G&O, however...

I had it backward.  Before the UH-USM game, I thought that the winning coach would get the A&M job and the losing coach would go somewhere else.  I had no idea either would end up at Carolina but I knew one of the would go to A&M.

Stupid move by the aggies, they need someone with SEC experience. They are going into the toughest conference while losing their starting qb a starting rb among others. They are supposedly paying this guy a good amount of money and arent doing so with the expectation of being competitive in 5 years which is how long its going to take.

Theyre setting this guy up to fail, they will give him 3 years and he will be gone
