Tons of great vocalists and bands out there these days.The best vocalists are generally found in power metal or progressive metal bands as that type of music lends itself best to a more operatic style of singing.

Yes, I listen to contemporary music/bands/artists. And I am indeed "younger" than you, simply in spirit.

Two of my fav vocalists for sure ( I'm a huge fan of the first 2 Keeper albums and Dio is Dio..lol ), but best is subjective.

Other faves: Eric Johnson, Warren DeMartini, Neal Schon, Nils Norberg, Van Halen, Vogg (Decapitated), Kim Mitchell, etc.

Very cool axe man. I've got 6 guitars of various makes and models with newest one being the one in my avatar. There's a few vids if me playing floating around the forum too.

I LOVE Pagan's Mind ... and Fates Warning, too, obviously. Been a huge fan of FW since No Exit was a new release. I own all three of the band's DVDs (plus the DVDs that come with the reissues of Awaken the Guardian, No Exit, Perfect Symmetry, and Parallels).

Jim Matheos is awesome. I'll buy anything he appears on. (OSI is quite cool.) Too bad Mark Zonder is no longer in the group (his old band, Warlord, kicks ass).

I assume you know about the new record to feature Jim and John Arch, right (and Joey Vera)?
