Badass.

I LOVE Pagan's Mind ... and Fates Warning, too, obviously. Been a huge fan of FW since No Exit was a new release. I own all three of the band's DVDs (plus the DVDs that come with the reissues of Awaken the Guardian, No Exit, Perfect Symmetry, and Parallels).

Jim Matheos is awesome. I'll buy anything he appears on. (OSI is quite cool.) Too bad Mark Zonder is no longer in the group (his old band, Warlord, kicks ass).

I assume you know about the new record to feature Jim and John Arch, right (and Joey Vera)?

Fav FW album is definitely No Exit. I wish they would go back to this style of playing actually. Ivory Gate of Dreams is classic and probably my all time favorite Fates song. Own the vid's and OSI stuff too.

Yeah, I saw an interview with Jim and Ray talking about the new project with Arch back in the fold. Ray is still in Fates, but who know what'll happen if the stuff with Arch proves to be more successful. Ray has his own side project going with Redemption which is pretty cool as well.

Redemption is killer, yeah. I dig the two Engine albums, as well.

My fave FW record is likely Perfect Symmetry, although Disconnected would be up there, definitely. But in my opinion, there isn't a dud in the entire catalogue.

the late 80's - early 90's was a great time for me so listening to Perfect Symmetry and Parallels always brings me back. Both great albums.

I agree on the FW catalogue. As far as I'm concerned, anything Matheos works on is gold, be it with FW or other projects. Big fan of his songwriting/playing. Aresti is a great player too.

For those into metal music, imo a really underrated vocalist was the singer from Grim Reaper. Voice pretty similar to Dio.

Steve Grimmett! Awesome singer!

Tony Martin does an admirable job filling Ronnie's Shoes in Sabbath too. Killer vocals on this tune. Comments section for the vid talks about how underrated he is, which is very true.

Mindcrime 2 was a disgrace to the original and didn't deserve the moniker.

I saw FW several years ago and it was one of Frank's first shows back with the band. I was jazzed BIG TIME.

Operation: Mindcrime is one of my all-time fave records. Its sequel is a joke in comparison. Queensryche is dead to me.

it's a shame when bands turn to shit.  Or maybe my musical taste has changed.

I've never seen them live other than on DVD but I'm sure the show was great. Still a bucket list item for me, but I fear time's running out for FW.

sort of reminds me of Tony Harnell from TNT

Harnell is a great singer with and huge range, and yeah, he is another seriously underrated vocalist. Ronnie Le Tekro is/was no slouch in the guitar slinging dept either.

I'm sure you still like good music of which new QR is not. Everyone agrees that Geoff Tate has turned QR into shit. Michael Wilton needs to man up and save that crappy band.

Never heard Tony Martin sing before honestly, but he is also great in this song. Many underrated singers out there in metal.

Tate was at one time one of metal's greatest, now he, and his band, are complete and utter shit. Unbelievable.

No shit!

i though it was ok; its just that no matter how good it was it would never have been able to live up to the original, thats just how it works. the original OM is my favorite album of all time.

my vote for most underrated vocalist is Jeff Scott Soto. his vocals for yngwie malmsteen were awesome..esp 'as above, so below'

I thought this thread was about Geddy Lee.

It should be.
