Please, anyone tell me how what is going on now is any different how the Soviet Union started?

In Russia it started with a revolution against a monarchy and system of serfdom.
It was followed by another type of totalitarian regime.

I don't see the similarity to be honest. Interested in your POV though.

I am watching this now.  It did not start out like it ended up, but the mass hysteria over Dear Leader, the rationing, the cult worship of Stalin, the ratting out and demonization of anyone who did not agree with the master plan, the encouragement of ratting out your neghbor (flag@whitehouse.gov), the impossible "transformation" of society, etc are all errily similar to what is happening now.

Stalin was responsible for mass murdering of some 20 million Russians.
He is one of the most feared dictators of all time.
Those who was even suspected of disagreeing with him were sent off to the Gulag or killed.
Stalin was feared around the world.
I know Jag compared Bush to Hitler and I think this comparison is just as inaccurate.

not even Billy-Moe who thinks Obama's wife looks like a monkey complains about him being being black.

But comparisons with Stalin is totally off though.

It derails good legit critique of Obama.

If you're asking my stance on the healthcare bill, I have mixed feelings and continue to struggle with whether or not it's something that's good or bad for the country, right or wrong to do.

Yeah I'll tell you the difference.  Russia was a communist country when stalin took over and was controlled by a oppressive detatched monarchy before the revolution.
