I'm curious why?? Not that I am a huge Branch Warren fan or anything, but I have a hard time hating on the guy. Can anyone constructively explain all the Branch hate to me?

I just dislike his whole "hardcore" attitude, slamming and throwing weights around. He always says that the way he trains works for him. I am sure training with good form would work well for him as well. Trying to justify shitty form bc he is on a boat load of drugs,

It's about looking tough, hardcore, etc. Believe it or not some people (kids mostly) are impressed by that kind of posturing.
Here's a reality check: the guy is 5'6". Have you stood next to someone who is 5'6" latley? I don't know about you, but when I stand next to someone that size "tough" and "hardcore" aren't exactly the adjectives that come to mind--no matter how many tattoos or muscles he has. ::)

Sounds like people blame him for his win. I've heard a couple of interviews with the guy and business wise he's smart.

Here's my take on it.
He has a lot of mass, is reasonably ripped. But his physique has no flow, isn't very symmetrical IMO and he looks like a bunch of parts thrown together. His legs are separated but his upper body is not. In some poses he looks ok but for the most part, he is far too wide with not enough wow-factor across the board. He's got a wide waist, which adds to the overall blocky look.
Now those are just my opinion. It's not hate, it's just the way I see it. If you look at what the IFBB is supposed to reward, Branch ain't it. But that's what happens when you have a lack of challengers who are in shape.
Guaranteed that if Beyeke was RIPPED he would have won this thing. He has what I consider the ideal shape of a top contender (well, his calves could be bigger but whatchagonnado).
Don't get me wrong, I don't think Branch is terrible. I just don't think that his physique should be an Arnold champ.

The fucked up thing and sad part is there really is no pros that us young guys have to look up to, I really am not a fan of Phil's physique, as much as I try to be I just can't. Dennis wolfe was awesome a few years ago, looked amazing. Evan- don't like his look I'm sorry but I see a fat kid inside who was not meant to be a bodybuilder who became a bodybuilder and was literally all drugs. Only three physiques I "follow" are kevin levrone ..sagi kalev, and groink lol....and I wish I was joking but that's what bbing has come to. . Few other getbiggers... no one and adrian look very good. I don't like slinpimp's he looks like shit to me. He's the next Branch in the making minus the chest...mark my words. All in all Branch is not that bad, at least he has a chest unlike phil and evan.

no idea about his personality but his physique isn't that great for a pro, yet he still wins shows based on the corruption of the sport. i think it's pretty easy to see why people would be angry about that.

because Branch Warren physique is the opposite of vtaper? BW legs and core ( or slingut) completely overpower his upperbody. Two, BW arms have not kept up at all with the rest of his body, I cant fathom a reason besides genes why his arms look so "small" compared to his other muscle groups.
Basically, no proportions at all to his build. Huge legs, huge core, ok chest but shit shit shit arms...especially for an ifbb pro.

You might be right as I always do forget Dennis calves... However, I do think certain areas of his physique are better than Phils, but again like you said, even where Phil loses, he's still amazing.

I most certainly believe a ripped Beyeke would beat this incarnation of Wolf. Dennis looks just plain unhealthy; no other words for it. I don't care how ripped he is. He lacks symmetry and separation.
Worst Arnold top 3. Ever.
Just a shame that Curry couldn't get it together either...he's another Cormier in the making.

Anyone under 6 isn't tough or hardcore. These days kids are getting a lot taller and even 5'10/11 isn't exactly tall it's not short but not too impressive either. 6'2 to 6'5 now you're talking

Branch is a Professional bodybuilder, he works his ass off hard and he's good at his Profession.......it's just that in this Pro bodybuilding circuit, sometime those fans are not gonna get what they wish or expect......this Arnold line up was less than impressive and when Branch was the only one that could convince the judges on their decisions, that tells you that these guys who call themselves Pros need to step up and come in better than this......if you're a Warren's fan, you're happy that he won, if youre hating on him, well, you have to look at the other guys on stage and re-evaluate why Branch had to win

Please enlighten us. I generally respect your posts but here, I can't see any reason that could back up Branch's win. His conditioning was better than others? Yes but not by leaps and bounds. Actually, his conditioning enhanced a certain number of weak points (the tears, the lack of detail in his back which is generally something that pops out with a good conditioning, the non existent arms, etc.....). Sure, Wolf or Evan were "lacking" too but Branch was an abomination pure and simple by all standards.

Yet, Branch is missing a physique. He has no back, huge quads that lack detail, no arms, a messed ip midsection, delts that are less than stellar. And a semi-big chest with huge traps.

He simply overcrowded his bone structure with way too much muscle so he looks squatty and stumpy.................. ..looked far better earlier as an amateur......most of todays pros did actually.
No regard for lines,shape,symetry,detail,or proportion at all...........he just slapped on size randomly.

One of Branch's supposed strength is his chest. Which was less than stellar, his gut squeezing it just beneath the point where it would turn into a triple chin. Wolf's chest looked much better. This whole "you have to knock the champion" doesn't make any sense when the champ is just that bad. Even Cutler's win over Martinez in '07 wasn't as bad.

I had Evan winning it. Dex is damn near 40, or is 40, I think he knows that even if he got into crazy condition, that they wouldn't give it to him anyway, so why bother. Beyeke is still learning his body, he is young and will only get better...
Hell, I think if Winklaar had entered and came in his NY condition that he would have won.

Yes, Philsulina is by far superior to the others right now. Which speaks volumes about how shitty pro Bbing has become. Him and Branch shouldn't be on the same stage. And actually Branch shouldn't be competing on the same planet then most previous AC winners.
