Not necessarily.  But gaining muscle with no fat accumulation is difficult and extremely inefficient.  Steroids can make this much easier.   ;)

But, this doesn't mean you have to become a sloppy fatass to get bigger.

Now you do need fats to grow. but being a fatass is very different from getbig muscles. are you reading or following lee priest? in the off season? j/k
