We had a small twister here in Vaughan (just outside of Toronto) and also a very minor tremor for about 30 seconds for a small quake they had in northern Quebec. Both very rare occurances for this neck of the woods. Makes you wonder as the world changes if we will survive as a race or not in the future.

Have you ever experienced a  earthquake,?

1989, Loma Prieta earthquake...aka SF quake that ruined the World Series.

I was bending over to take out the garbage, when I felt the shaking begin. I ran to the bedroom to jump under my bed-only to remember you need a door jam or go outside.

Thankfully I went to the closet door, where I watched a crack in the window sill within seconds. Then look up and see my bed, with old style metal box springs weighing an outrageous amount, leaping up and down in the air about 3' off the ground.

when I was growing up my house got flooded twice, lived in the garage for probably around 6 months the first time b/c we had no flood insurance. The 2nd time we lived in an extended stay motel while they fixed the house but I honestly prefered living in the garage...

I saw a tornado once outside my door.  It was about 2 miles away but looked a lot closer.

I was in Pinehurst, NC when a hurricane hit.   The panic preparation was scary.  The day after it hit was absolutely beautiful.

Nah, but the DH is.  I go horseback riding.  I do get a lot of strange looks coming back to the resort in filthy jeans and riding boots.

Hahaha, no.  I ride western at a ranch - very dusty and dirty.

I have gone riding on the beach before - very fun.  One time the beach ride included going in the ocean.  That was disgusting  :-X  (horses, like children often relieve themselves when they get in the water)
