I work out the old fashion way barbells & dumbells , but hey maybe one can get huge using a BowFlex lol

Ellington Darden, who assisted Arthur Jones with Nautilus in getting Oliva in the shape that beat Schwarzenegger in '72, endorses em. ;D The smart ones like him & Yates use everything, instead of just free weights.

Oh he endorses the BowFlex? lol and FYI Sergio lost to Arnold 72 and he lost to Bill Pearl in 1971 while he was training under Jones , so much for machines and how many pros built their phsyiques with a BowFlex again? lol

Jones worked him to much he was the Flex Wheeler of his day , lazy and his diet sucked , he couldn't beat Arnold because he didn't have the heart and he didn't have a BowFlex lol

I had one..it was a peice of crap! The seat would fall everytime I would do an incline bench press. I almost threw out my back and almost tore something when the seat fell...
The weights..its not real weight! I think I got the one that had 250-350 pounds power rods. I was doing the whole stack for reps for the chest....250-350 bowlex pounds is not the same thing as real weight like they claimed it was...
Took too much damn space....was a waste of money! It wasnt worth the 1800 I paid for it!

machines work just fine, I've never used bowflex but machines in general are fine.

Machines are non-functional because they target only one area, dumbells are mostly functional because it uses multiple bodyparts!

Not a thing if you are bodybuilding......but in the last 10 or so years I have learned to combine functional training with bodybuilding using unconventional training methods, for example my leg routien is very unconventional compared to traditional bodybuilding methods!

Barbells and dumbells for the beginning. Machines only on the last set. thats how i do it. i like machines to push to failure on drop sets cuz i can just pull the pin set it and keep going.

LOL- I had a friend buy one and he was very unhappy with it :-X chad ray martin did some promoting for blowfex but he does not actually use one. he goes to a gym and uses major AAS thats why his muscles are so big-lol not becAUSE OF BLOWJOBFLEX

What's your leg routine like?
Example:
Deep squats supersetted w/
36" Box jumps w/15-20lb DB's
Bulgarian Split Squat supersetted w/
walking lunges or reverse lunge off of a 12-14" platform
1 leg SLDL
Sets are usually between 3-5
Reps on squats are from 8-12
Box jumps are never more than 5 reps

there was this guy at my old gym "USA gym" that use to leg press a shit load of weight, then take a 100lb plate, and run up and down about 15 stairs or so.....the guy had the sickest wheels!

Alot of the leg programs that either I do, my Athletes or regular clients do target power, funtional strength and conditioning and with the type of programs that I design my athletes rarely have injuries and usually their conditioning is off the charts!

damn things cost like $2g new - but the dog uses it as a pissing stand now when he's locked up in the garage
I was going to sell it and say that is how I got to 270lbs when some redneck shows up to buy it

Nothing beats my workout machine when I can't make it to the gym. Available at my website and cost 1/3 the price but can use more weight and do more exercises.

It's no secret, he was using that in conjunction with what he called "weight training" for his last contest, you can tell which he relied more on. ::)
