Each and every time I see them (IRL or online) their gluttonous presence disgusts me. This is a girl I know. She was born only in 1991 and in that small timeframe, managed to get THIS fat already ::)

I think judgementality (existing word I hope) is the only thing that will realistically help them. Being kind and offering advice, pampering, ... all doesn't work and we just have to look at reality for proof.

Look they know they are obese. They don't need an asshole reminding them. Offering dietry advice, encouraging them to exercise etc is helpful. Of course they are the only ones who are able to change their lifestyle, but if they are committed and want help and to change then give them helpful advice etc. Many obese adults were raised by parents who fed them a crappy diet and they don't know how to eat. They need re educating on what foods to eat, proportion meal size and eased into an exercise programme.

They know full well, in fact, they know far more about food in general than their non-fat counterparts do. They WANT to eat in copiious amounts and they WANT to avoid any and all exercise. There is a small % of them that wants to change but that is a very small subset of them.
It takes WORK to get obese, you don't honestly think they got that way because they didn't want it do you?

Any of us who has eaten 4-5000 kcals knows how much effort it takes. You feel like shit, you feel lethargic, you have a hard time staying awake and yet you need to continue eating because you have to get in those 5000 kcals.
This doesn't happen by coincidence. It takes months and months, years and years of hard work and an intense love relationship with food.

In a public health care system like we have, they get FREE gastric bypass surgeries. In practice this means that anyone eligible, which if I recall correctly is from BMI 30 onwards, is getting one done over here.

Yup...it's math. very simple, calories in, calories out. the problem with obese people is they diet for three days, and expect to see visual changes, and they throw in the towel when they start getting really hungry and don't feel full because their stomach is so stretched out.
That's the real problem, they can't hack paying the price that it takes to really drop some poundage. At my fattest i could eat a whole pizza, and 20 minutes later i wanted to throw it up. Now I literally can't finish two slices. And it sucked ass getting from point A to point b, i was constantly hungry for a month

So, if we assume for simplicity's sake that that 62.2% pertains to each age bracket (rather than allowing for differences between brackets), the result is that there are still more lean women of breeding age in this country than there are people in your little Pollack shitswamp (42 million vs. 38 million). Nice try pal.

As these fat fukks does not change their life style usualy, just add a bunch of meds/procedures to their daily "diet").

After spending a night in intensive care he "realized" that his habits may've not been the best ones, so now instead of preaching me he started asking about food, diets and stuff... Plenty of these around, plenty.

I remember 6 years ago this girl i worked with would always buy hot chips (Fries) for breakfast and guzzle that down with a big bottle of coke a cola, she did this for 8 months and was hospitalised, not sure what happen to her as the boss fired her but did hear that she had liver failure and a bunch of other things.

What I've found is that being fat lowers IQ. Researching the relation intelligence - propensity to become fat won't ever happen I'm afraid, as much as I also would like it to.

Look they know they are obese. They don't need an asshole reminding them. Offering dietry advice, encouraging them to exercise etc is helpful. Of course they are the only ones who are able to change their lifestyle, but if they are committed and want help and to change then give them helpful advice etc. Many obese adults were raised by parents who fed them a crappy diet and they don't know how to eat. They need re educating on what foods to eat, proportion meal size and eased into an exercise programme.

My own brother, my own flesh and blood, while 15 years younger just got it. He was 100 pounds over weight, got a job at canadian tire and lost 60 pounds, just by doing a LITTLE 8 hour shift a day, and he loves himself again. He eats what 16 year old kids eat and maintains his frame. While its NOT my frame, he has a clue now. Kids come to him to get help and its very heart warming to see.
But not everyone will be like this, its easier to be a couch potato, all of us know it, but its not what we want for ourselves.

No, I am saying when you laugh at them you have no idea whether it is their misfortune to be fat. Regardless of whether their obesity is a result of overeating, genetics or some other health condition, unless they are happy to be as they are, they suffer some misfortune, discrimination and ridicule. I cannot imagine how very many overweight folks can be pleased to be large in a society that thinks it is OK to laugh at them for no other reason then their size. So yes, there is clear misfortune in being fat.

It would be egotistical to believe any of our posts here will significant change others. To coin a phrase, sometimes it feels necessary just to "call a spade, a spade." If the observation fits or even offends, then there is probably truth in it. Incidentally, I work hard not to think of anyone as being a "scumbag" even when they post something very offensive and even when their posts are directed at me (which is not the case here, since I am not and have never been fat).
I do know people who are overweight. My former co-worker for 15 years and a friend even today has always been obese. While I can't know exactly what his eating habits are like most of the time, I do remember him trying every diet in the book with little success. I do know his self-esteem is in the toilet and it affects almost everything in his life. I also know that he is a good person with many fine qualities which often go ignored because people judge him by his size and not by who he is.
Don't you find it interesting that there is more ridicule directed towards large women then there is towards large men? Anyone have any ideas as to why this is.

PM, Fat people will never win, its just the way it is. Honestly they lack any discipline, they eat themselves to a heart attack and i mean that literally, they know about heart disease, liver problems etc yet they keep eating.
I train 4 days a week, i know if i took steroids there will be side effects,so i dont do it.

Not every fat person is fat solely because they have no discipline. If getting fit were easy or even possible for all people, there would be far fewer people in the world who are not fit.
A friend of mine was diagnosed with MS about twenty years ago. Today, because of her disease she gets around in a motorized chair. When I first met her, she was mobile and fit looking. Today she is not fit by any standard and somewhat fat. It wouldn't surprise me if strangers seeing her get around in her chair, don't come to the wrong conclusion that she is in this situation because she is overweight. I know this to be true, because I have seen large people in motorized chairs and thought this very thought. It is called stereotyping. We all do it. That does not make it right.
My wife will soon be 70 years old. She has congestive heart failure and uses oxygen all the time. She got gestational type II diabetes when she was pregnant with our daughter nearly 40 years ago. She was an active and involved person who ignored her illness largely because she is so selfless. She also developed a thyroid condition decades ago. Her kidneys are failing. Often when we go shopping, she will use one of the motorized chairs at the store mainly because lugging around her oxygen tank is too taxing. Although she isn't particularly large, she is hardly fit looking. I've noticed that while many people are very kind to her, there are some who shoot her an annoyed look....passing judgment, while not knowing anything about her or her poor health, which by-the-way is not of her making.
I already mentioned my former co-worker and friend who has been obese since childhood. What strangers who judge him don't know about him is that he isn't happy being large. If he had the capacity to change this, I know he would. To think someone being fat is simply always the result of them having no will power is plain ignorant. To pick on them for being fat is simply cruel.

Good to know. And yes, maybe I sometimes take what goes on in these forums too seriously. I should lighten up, but I am simply not willing to do that at another person's expense.
Bad behavior always begins somewhere. If we believe the Internet gives us the right to be cruel to one another, I think the next natural step is to take this into real life. Hopefully, we are all adults here and therefore not as impressionable as younger people. Still if we actually do and say these things in the presences of youth, we are essentially giving them permission to act accordingly.
