What a sad place, and none of them is lifting.
The only decent looking one was that green bikini hoe.

Looks like a LSD trip, but smooth.

Or watching the world with a kaleidoscope.. I loved them as a kid.

What you describe, is what you see through a kaleidoscope. It's an instrument with a pretty complex design.

"A Kaleidoscope operates on the principle of multiple reflection, where several mirrors are placed at an angle to one another, usually 60°. Typically there are three rectangular mirrors. Setting the mirrors at a 60°so that they form a triangle. The 60° angle creates seven duplicate images of the objects, five at 60°, and 2 at 90°. As the tube is rotated, the tumbling of the coloured objects presents varying colours and patterns. Arbitrary patterns shows up as a beautiful symmetrical pattern created by the reflections. A two-mirror kaleidoscope yields a pattern or patterns isolated against a solid black background, while the three-mirror (closed triangle) type yields a pattern that fills the entire field." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaleidoscope

As a kid, I had simplified one like this, made of carton.

The seventies, you know... the kids enjoyed these, while the older ones enjoyed their marijuana or LSD  ;D

One of his best  :)

It represents what I love about him and incidentally Van; the little hesitations, the variety in their voice that helps put across an emotion. Both genius
Check out Van's rehearsal for The Last Waltz, absolute beast
