couldn't disagree more, i believe that either Savikas or Brian Siders are the strongest men in the world right now as far as deadlifting, squatting, pressing, grip strength and in other words THE THINGS THAT STRONGMAN SHOULD BE ABOUT.

He has won 4 and will probably win 5 WSM titles, but there is more today than just WSM.
Mari cant handle IFSA. The Lithuanians alone would tear him apart, hahaha!
Dont get me wrong, hes good, but he isnt what I think of when I think Strongman. Neither is IFSA really but they are definately stronger.

you could put him in the argument as well but i think this guy meant guys who compete in strongman but as far as overhead strength goes he'd be hard to beat.

Brutal contradicting yourself. Strongman is about... wait for it... being STRONG! Hence the name. If it was about conditioning and speed, they would call it strength athletics.

I've thrown out the TV years ago. Which fed is the "heavy cardio" fed? They should be ashamed of themselves. Being a strongman has always been about limit strength. I've never heard about Cyr or Saxon doing lifts for maximum reps.

Thanks for proving my point. As much as I have always idolised JP he was never the absolute strongest, even by his own admission. An amazing human specimen, and in my mind still the face of strongman competitions, but he won the WSM 4 times while not being the strongest. Extremely strong, and ridiculously well-conditioned and flexible for someone his size, but not the strongest.

thing is they started those strongman contests on the wrong foot in 1977 . running with a fridge and throwing a tire as strange feats of strentgh . but they need to entertain an audience .. and bring money..
