Accept. Probably the most underrated heavy metal band. Even though I preferred them with Udo, Mark Tortilla does a great job as singer.

Still remember the first time I heard Mercyful Fate back in 1984 in highschool. Didn't know what to make of King Diamond's voice, but the music was incredible.

Even though I think Manowar is pretty much a parody of itself nowadays and totally redundant, I think they had the all time best heavy metal debut album. Eric Adam's voice was incredible and Ross the Boss had a unique style on the guitar.

So when it comes down to it, you cant beat the known names, anthrax,pantera,megadeath,slayer, metalica

This was a VERY seriously hard-core time in the Heavy Metal world (unlike the fake shit)
I literally remember as a young teen seeing dudes 5 to 10 years older than me at concerts BANGING their fucking heads!!

im happy to see that not everyone who says they like metal on this board lists the generic metallica maiden priest megadeth slayer combo. stopped listening to that crap when i was 16.

modern day babylon now theres a great prog metal band.
