Not a huge fan of either Trump or social media but I hope it will be successful. Facebook is a monopoly and too slanted to the left. There should be competition.

What’s to stop Apple and Samsung to not carry it in their app stores? I’m an idiot when it comes to technology like that. Is there a way around this?

I think these companies know half the people in the country are ready to vote with their dollars for the next 3 years. Timing is everything.

Then again, create a phone platform and take all that business as well. It's genius really. These partisan companies have created a backlash.

TRUTH given 30 days to stop breaking software license. TRUTH must open up its source code for users to view per licensing agreement with the company it has built its social media site. If not, it can be sued. TRUTH must either comply with the agreement or rebuild its site from scratch.

Internet trolls flooded former President Donald Trump's TRUTH Social within hours of the new social media platform's announcement.

Users flocked to the site Wednesday night after Canadian hacker Aubrey Cottle posted a URL connecting a mobile beta that allowed them to register fake accounts, just hours after the initial announcement and before the site was officially open.

Users registered various handles connected to high-profile individuals, including Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, with several of the fake accounts posting troll content and obscene images, according to the Daily Dot .

Mikael Thalen, a writer for the outlet, was briefly able to acquire the handle @donaldtrump, posting screenshots of the service's interfaceaccount settings before the page was taken offline.

Within hours of the leak, TRUTH Social suspended account creation and removed all created users.

"You can no longer use your account, and your profile and other data are no longer accessible. You can still login to request a backup of your data until the data is fully removed, but we will retain some data to prevent you evading the suspension," an error message reportedly told users after the account purge.

Looks like Trump isn't bankrolling his own social media project....not that I expected him to. He uses other people's money without concern over who those other people are. Anyone's money whether it is crooked, corrupt or not, is fair game. Strings? Who cares about strings? For example, Trump to Putin:

On Thursday, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings posted online revealed seemingly indirect connections to potential business in China. MeidasTouch News found Digital World chief executive Patrick Orlando was also listed as the CEO of China Yunhong Holdings Ltd.

According to Chinese-language financial and investment website MoneyDJ, Yunhong is a "blank check company" created with no specific business intent other than to engage in mergers as well as securities transactions, asset acquisitions and stock purchases.

It remains unclear whether Yunhong will play any part in the day-to-day operations or direction of Truth Social. The Chinese government is notorious for exerting legal and party-ideological influence over locally operating firms.

As popular as Trump is with certain segments of the population, this social media channel will only appeal to right wing older people. The youngsters are too into Insta, Snap, etc. This channel is likely to bore them to tears. But that is not to say that Trump does not still hold huge power and influence. He does.
