I hear your points, but again, as bad as OB is, as poor of a leader he's been AND the economy i think Romney should be legitimately ahead. AND.... don't under estimate OB's ability to campaign. He pretty much stole it from Hillary. I wonder how Reagan was fairing at this point versus Carter.
Still lots of time left though. things can really change.
Its sucks any way, because again, most will be voting against someone not for someone.
I hear your point, too. But, this ain't 2008. Obama now has a RECORD. And, there is a deliberate effort by "alternative" media to dig up this guy's past and show his true colors. The mainstream media won't be able to cover for him (at least, not as much) this time. We've seen incumbents with better record than this get BEAT DOWN on election day. I'd go out on a limb and say NO Democrat, past or present, would want to start a re-election campaign with a record like that of Obama.
There's a reason he's on this blitz of a fundraiser tour. The dollars ain't coming in the coffer, as scheduled (hence his gay-groveling and Hollywood schmoozing) Romney just outraised him in May.
He's lost the white working-class vote, especially with his cowardly no-show in Wisconsin. Even the union bosses are FUMING, wondering why they should go to bat for a guy, who left them high and dry, during the biggest political showdown of their lives.
Romney's doing just fine. If for no other reason, he's abiding by the saying that you don't kill your opponent when he's intent on committing suicide.
BTW, Reagan was behind Carter, around this time in 1980.
