I found this sign strange too.  I would think that people in the transgender community would find it offensive.  They don't consider themselves half male, half female.  They consider themselves 100% one or the other, but with the wrong plumbing.

The thing is you all probabl run into transgender people regularly without ever knowing it.  People are transitioning earlier, at least with the hormones.
