A Call to Arms!
« on: April 17, 2009, 04:23:07 PM »
One president:

*Stonewalls for over 400 days an investigation of the worst attack on American Soil, then he sets up an investigation committee to fail;

*Orders the illegal invasion of Iraq killing hundreds of thousands of people and costing hundreds of billions of dollars;

*Orders the torture of people

*Orders illegal Governmental spying on americans

Reaction of the American Right:  Fabulous Mr. President, you have our full support.

The other president proposes a 3% tax increase on wealthy americans.

Reaction of the American Right:  Rebellion!

Egged on by FOX News no less.  They don't report, they organize and participate.

It's sad to think that these americans are driven by thoughtless greed to such a degree that they'll support an insurrection.

The TEABAG rebellion is so sad.

Morons in Texas screaming for secession from the US....then they chant "USA...USA....USA"...

This is the 20% my friends:  The shit for brains people who are holding back our evolution and shitcanning our national intelligence quotient.

They want Rebellion b/c the top marginal tax rate is going up 3%...as promised by Bush when he installed a sunset provision on his tax cuts to sell them to america at a 1.2 trillion dollar price tag

Iraq - Obama said 1 year.

Spying?  The law was changed.  Obama isn't committing a felony like Bush did.

Bush put the US into debt to enrich his supporters, unlawfully kill people and destroy two countries.  Obama is spending to make things better.

It costs money to make money.  AFter 8 years of Bush and the republicans destroying, literally destroying, the economic and moral foundations of our country, it's going to take trillions of dollars and years and years of time for Obama to fix those things.

The rest of your stuff is yoohoo.

OBAMA HAS SAID HE WILL LEAVE 50,000 TROOPS IN IRAQ.They just discovered that not only has Obama continued the program, but since he took office they have been spying on Americans at record numbers and they just appologised for it.

Obama is going to explode the deficit to help the idiots in his "community" that dont work, dont produce dont add a fucking thing to this country. He will expand the budget to give them free health care, more welfare, more government.

How do you fix the economy by spending it into bankruptsy. Please give me ONE TIME where this has ever done a dam bit of good.In fact, please name ONE government program that works well.

Cap and trade os yoohoo? Its one of THE MOST DANGEROUS things this president is pushing. It will kill industry here and cost millions of jobs and absolutely explode our utility bills. If you dont think thats important, you have your head in Obamas rectum.Card Check will be another nail in Americas coffin.

None of what you typed is true...Pure fabrications or outrageous spin designed to appeal to the rightwinger.

I can name you dozens and dozens of gov. programs that work well.
However, these individuals could not have made a dime on the free market without any of the following government supports of the free market:
Printing the very dollar bills with which people trade.
Public roads.
Rural electrification.
Government subsidized telephone wiring.
Satellite communications.
Police protection.
Military protection.
A criminal justice system.
Fire protection.
Paramedic protection.
An educated workforce.
An immunized workforce.
Protection against plagues by the Centers for Disease Control.
Public-funded business loans, foreclosure loans and subsidies.
Protection from business fraud and unfair business practices.
The protection of intellectual property through patents and copyrights.
Student loans.
Government funded research and development.
National Academy of Sciences.
Economic data collected and analyzed by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Prevention of depressions by Keynesian policies at the Fed (successful for six decades now).
Dollars protected from inflation by the Fed.
Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Public libraries.
Cooperative Extension Service (vital for agriculture)
National Biological Service.
National Weather Service
Public job training.

There're are so many more.  Your hyperbole is your downfall.

It's almost all Bush's fault.

What a shock.

Obama should strive to spend more like FDR spent.  Both were faced with a ruined economy due to deregulated excesses of republican predecessors.

way to address the points, first its not all bush's fault the problems are complex and the blame is spread around is bush at fault of course, is it all his fault not in any way shape or form.

do you really think that middle class ppl wont end up paying for this?

you really dont think any of that spending is on programs that they wouldnt normally be able to get just like he said in the youtube clip?

I did address the points.  It was Bush who preempted state fraud laws with unenforced federal oversight laws for battling fraudulent lending.  Keep that housing bubble rolling...I say, anyway.

The middle class is already paying for the mess.

Obama has expanded wiretapping and is now listing veterans as a threat against the US.

How long until the patriot act will be used against US citizens.

http://i1.democracynow.org/2009/4/16/obama_faces_deadline_today_over_release
We speak to attorney and blogger Glenn Greenwald about how the Department of Justice has demanded the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by the Electronic Frontier Foundation based on “state secrets” and “sovereign immunity.” Greenwald says the “sovereign immunity” claim is “of breathtaking scope—never before advanced even by the Bush administration—that the PATRIOT Act bars any lawsuits of any kind for illegal government surveillance unless there is ‘willful disclosure’ of the illegally intercepted communications.”

http://news.bostonherald.com/news/opinion/op_ed/view.bg?articleid=1166679&srvc=home&position=rated

For instance, the report insists that returning “disgruntled military veterans” from Iraq and Afghanistan are recruitment fodder for extremist and terrorist groups.

But, if you follow the footnotes, as John Hinderaker of the Powerline blog did, you’ll discover that, according to the FBI, only 19 Iraq and Afghanistan war vets have joined the “extremist movement” (and some of them may have lied about their service). More than half of America’s 1.4 million active-duty military personnel have served in Iraq or Afghanistan (and there are roughly 23 million U.S. vets). Any way you slice it, 19 yahoos amount to statistical noise so faint you would need one of those UFO-hunting dishes to pick it up.

By the way Decker the US debt is to almost triple and debt repayment will be the third biggest line item in 10 years.
Nobody should think that this kind of reckless spending is a good idea.
Good luck exporting goods. or protecting American interests, like oil or trade.

Obama is not breaking the law with his wiretapping.  That's a difference btn Bush and FISA and Obama and FISA--Bush committed multiple felonies.

Obama did NOT list veterans as a threat against the US.  Read the report.  The report states that rightwing radicals could recruit returning veterans in light of the economy and mindset of such soldiers.

Look at what McVeigh did.  Radicalized Rightwingers are the real danger to this country.

All it takes is one 'hero' to bomb a building to dust.

I whole heartedly support this report.  We can't have another McVeigh type rightwinger going off b/c of some perceived slight by the federal government.

I think Obama should be spending more money but in a different way.  One of the best ways to repay the debt is to raise the top marginal income tax rate up to 41-3%.

I also think a modest wealth tax should be imposed...along the lines of Ed Wolff's proposal.
