where one carries their fat is largely genetic.  Some people have that sunken face look even with a beer gut, while others (like me and my brother) have pinchable cheeks even with full christmas trees and visible serratus.  So yeah gear does give you a swollen face, but so can genetics.

Adam, you looked best here... and it appears you are dieted down and lean in this picture which shows pretty much what you'll look like once you lose that extra weight you are carrying over your muscle.  And in the end, you will not look better than Michael, IMO, you will look just as good, but smaller.
