are you sure you didn't read about the 76 ers a guy is trying to use a leverage buyout. phillies should be healthy a sell out everygame for almost two years. they shouldn't have wasted ten million for a new scoreboard that they didn't need though.

phillies are the new hitless wonders. 1 st place despite anemic offense. don't charlie manual know they have a guy in the minors who had 163 hits 30 steals and a 304 avg in 2009 and 160 hits 35 steals and a 297 avg last year in the major leagues. give the podfather a chance. scott posednik could be the answer and he's rotting in lehigh valley triple a.

Nope, it's the Phillies.  They're over the MLB's debt limit:
Quote
Far be it from me to give any credence to nay of Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt’s argument that MLB has treated him unfairly. However, Hardballtalk.com is reporting that 9 of 30 MLB teams are in violation o MLB debt rules. Those teams are of course the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets as well as Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers, Florida Marlins, Philadelphia Phillies, Texas Rangers, and Washington Nationals.

The basic rule here is MLB franchises are not allowed to have more debt than ten times their annual earnings. It is not clear if earnings means total revenue or profit, but my guess here it is total revenue. Let’s take a moment to spell this out. Say Team A has total revenues of 1 million dollars a season. That means the MLB rules would limit that team to 10 million dollars of total debt. Of course in each of these cases we are talking about much higher figures.

I was surprised to see their name on that list.  They just spent a ton of cash on Lee, and it appears that Citizens' is sold out all the time.

Philly fans just need to wait it out until the post season, and then just hope that they don't run into some crazy lucky/hot team.

I think only Lincecum/Cain/Sanchez has a true shot at stopping them, and even that is a long shot with SF's lousy hitting.

they sent j.c. romero out and brought up vance worley again for saturday. i don't think j.c. is going to make it back any time soon.phillies triple a team which is a few miles from me was a hotbed of activity lately.in last two days one guy ronnie bellard retired during batting practice, another left the team to be with his wife who's water broke. brian gordon opted out of his contract signed with yankees and started a game yesterday.a few other guys got sent out, they brought up 3 double a guys one is the current eastern league home run and rbi  leader cody overbeck.

After a closer look at JC Romero's numbers, it appears he does have some value, as he still seems to be able to get lefties out pretty well.

3 CGSO in a row for Lee?  Insane.  Looking forward to the Yankees getting a chance to put a stick up his ass, after his off season comments.

Not that I blame him for taking the most cash, nor do I think the Yankees are guaranteed anything.  Just want the shot.

lee can be very good against the best line-ups , he still seems to be constantly  learning the trade.he seems to have learned it isn't awful to issue a walk to a batter instead of giving in with too good a pitch.

Thanks for being a pussy, Hamels.  I would have like to see Philly sweep.  Lester and Hamels were dominant, and it could have set the stage for a great ending.

Although I wasn't even watching, so I guess it's moot.

hamels actually wanted to stay in but rich dubee won't allow it being he took two shots to the same non-pitching hand.

Then I'm blaming Hamels for buy a shitty glove.

BTW, what are they going to do with Hamels next year?  Open up the bank and get Lee money ready, or let him go?  Can they afford it?

there's a lot of ifs involved there. if vance worley keeps evolving he could be a factor he will be cheap. if oswalt is done they might get a break on their luxury tax.lidge will be off the books no chance they resign him. rollins impending free agency  give him big bucks or replace?

amaro is open to either a bullpen guy or a righthanded hitter who can mash. one or the other those are the two top names of the bullpen guys he's looking at. as far as  the hitter which is what charlie manual is looking for probably either hunter pence or carlos beltran. probably giving up dom brown. mayberry might just be that rh hitter he's doing good as of late.

He was just on the Yankees at their worst time.  It looked like he would never play in the playoffs.   But he would have in 94 if it wasn't for the strike, and in 95 hit hit over .400 when he finally got there.

phillies rained out today, they were about to unveil a harry kalas statue, i wonder why they would waste a space for this guy when they have so many other deserving phils. so far they have mike schmidt, steve carlton, rich ashburn and robin roberts all deserving and  now kalas. why? this guy announced for phils he never played there.he made more errors over the years in his announcing than the phils did and they had some bad teams in those years. one great example was robin ventura came on to promote some cause harry kalas asks him if he ever faced sandy koufax. koufax was done playing before ventura was even born.
