If the Federal Governement stopped backing loans college educations would have to face market forces and lower their costs to attract students.  College is expensive precisely because the government interrupts the price discovery mechanism.

When competition thrives the consumer/student wins.  Monopolies exist because of tacit or direct government support.

Anyone see 60 minutes last week?  Talking about the big demand in basic low skilled manufacturing?  Employers were saying they are having a hell of a time finding entry level employees that are just reliable and can show up to work on time.

What's that mean?
