Anything concrete to back this up?

Lead MLB in HRs and are in second place in team OPS by one percentage point.  Doing this with basically three rookies in the IF.

#1 starter is top five in baseball, maybe higher.

Bullpen statistically on pace to be the best ever.

Andjuar / Frazier + pitching prospect

Or a combo of Frazier / Florial / Sheffield / Acevedo / Andujar / Abreu / Tate, etc....

They are perfect trade partners - Mets need a reboot, Yanks need an ace, and Yankees have the players to move.

Even by met standards, this year has been a debacle for them. Hard to see giving the yankees the final piece to a championship puzzle. If it meant keeping the yankees from the ultimate prize, even to improve themselves in the process, the mets would do it.

I used to think that, but there's been a growing media presence pointing out to the Mets that they're idiots if they go this route.

Fanbase would get over it once they saw the talent they get.
