I'm finally graduating to a real bass guitar.

Don't know anything about it.  It looks cool.  What's special about it?

Those are sweet basses man.  I've been looking to get a bass lately (i sold my old bass rig a while back) because i just like having one around.  I sold my old bass rig to fund my pedal steel.  What kind of bass amp do you have?  If you say ampeg, i'll be jealous as all hell ;D

The Fender you bought a while back was cool. How much you pay for the Ernie Ball? Have you tried G&L?

lol... i have an ampeg 450 watt and a hartke 250 watt.
also a hartke 4x12 and an ampeg 1x15.  i kinda rotate them out.

the musicman bass is incredible.  it's used by flea, RATM, ACDC, and a million other bands.  the sound is just sick.  i didn't see the need in spending 1300 on a bass.  It didn't feel all that different when I played with it.  But thru my bass stack with a full band last night in a dive of a bar, and I understood.  I sounded like a CD, to be honest.  Clear as day, sustain for days, perfect tone, and it just felt good in the chest.

Yeah, sounds like you've got a pretty sweet setup... i'll buy a bass again one of these days.  right now i am borrowing my buddies ibanez for some recording, and it sounds pretty good, but has too much "oomph" and not enough clarity.  I'm not a great bassist by any means, but i know what i like and those musicmans are sweet.  At a buddies gig a while back, he broke a string on his bass and the band that had just played tossed him up their bassists bass, which was a musicman, and it was night and day.  Such a clearer, fuller and richer sound.

A buddy of mine has been playing his pedal steel thru an ampeg 1 x 15 bass amp lately (dunno the wattage, but its high) and it sounds clear as a bell, clean headroom for days.  Ampegs are great amps for everything it would seem... every play one of their reverb rockets?

yep, been playing it for 2 weeks...

"Play that funky music white boy" sounds better than the record.  slap and pop.  I got a book on slapping and have been practicing every day.

she's gorgeous... expensive... $1350 :(

But I can see why people spend so much on a guitar.  I've played on $400 junk basses my whole life.  This thing plays like a wet dream.
