I agree on the ban of fully automatic weapons (which is already in effect), but I do think that Americans should be able to own handguns, shotguns, hunting rifles, and and semi automatic weapons such as the AR-15.
I fully understand (from the Governments point of view) about not letting every Tom, Dick, and Harry, having the right to own weapons that can compete with the U.S. Army. Heavy weaponry and citizens do not mix. Just take the incident in L.A. years, ago, where two guys with body armour, and automatic assault rifles, took an entire police force, and a city, captive after trying to rob a bank.
My question is this: Where do we draw the line? Our Forefathers, the creators of The Second Amendment, lived in a day, where they shot musket balls from rifles and pistols. They were prophetic in many things, but I doubt that they could envision the thought of what weaponry would be available to today's Americans.
You guys blame the government. Why wouldn't a government watch its own back?
