Please don't bring up Xerox and it's "windowing" system.

It's the most rehashed thing ever... Xerox had a GREAT thing, and what did they do? NOTHING.

Xerox let Xwindows sit on the shelf and do absolutely ZERO with it.

Apple actually used it... brought it to the masses and if you think you'd be typing this thing on the internet at a PC at home without Jobs and Woz, you're just deluding yourself.

So, Xerox developed it in 1981, Apple had it's version in 1983 and Microsoft had theirs in 1985. Big fucking deal. And talking about bringing shit to the masses, if you're trying to imply Apple has anything to do with bringing anything to the masses, you're an idiot. It's almost 2012 - if Apple is so superior and innovative, why has it gone from - according to you - pioneer in 1983, to 7.3% in 2012.

Wow... 7.3%  ::)
If Apple was the only one offering a graphical user interface in 1983, they've gone from 100% to 7.3% in 28 years. Great progress  ::)

Apple isn't a software company... They are a hardware company... That's what they have always said they were.

It's why they let people easily run Windows on their hardware now.

What the fuck are you talking about 1981? Xerox had a windowing computer in 1973... Many years before Apple.

Apple is a hardware company... Just like IBM and HP... They are not a software company... Yes, they make an OS (Just like IBM and HP do) but they are in the hardware business and they sell many more pieces of hardware than Microsoft.

;)

Why are you such an Apple hater... Apple brought windowing to the masses... No body used Windows until 3.0, sure they had a 1.0 version in 85, and it was horrendous.

Find someone who honestly used it more than once.

Actually, I'm not. I own both MAC and a PC. After using the MAC for a while, I stopped using it. Didn't like it.

I just find it funny how Jobs brainwashes people to buy inferior products by making them look "cool". For example iPad has no multitasking. I guess listening to music and browsing the web is too much asked in 2011. And no Flash? You just made a shitload of websites useless. What new does iPad offer? Nothing.. nothing but hype. But it's "cool" and masses follow Apple propaganda. It's sad really.

Exactly. Jobs was a brilliant marketer/manager. He took existing ideas, but did not create any new ideas. What is taking an existing idea and selling it called? Marketing! So why call him a visionary? (unless you mean visionary in marketing)

No. He took ideas and made them a lot better.

Just like Gates, Ellison, McNealy.

RIP Steve Jobs.

Bodybuilding related - thanks to him I use my Ipod Nano in the gym to play proper music in order to drown out the shite coming from the speakers - this has helped make some of my workouts that much more intense and successful.

Steve Jobs was the epitome of ATTENTION WHORE.  He has a company with 20000 people that work their asses off daily and he takes the credit for everything they made.  The fact is he wasn't the genious behind the ipod.  Some british dude they hired designed the device and the scroll wheel, yet jobs gets all the credit.

The guy is a sleezy fucker.  His stock option prices when he came back were back dated to a time where the stock was cheaper than when he was hired.  This way he can cash out for more money.

Fuck him for stealing all of the spotlight of everything the thousands of people in his company work on daily.
