Coincidentally I just tried to find a release date for a DVD/BR this morning (not that I'd buy it, but it would mean a rip would be just around the corner).
Apparently they wanted to put it up on Hulu, but it got canned (or something) - at least according to their FB page.
Maybe somebody with a Facebook account could ask for a DVD release on the official site, since they appear to actually answer there.

a bodybuilding movie won't sell anymore. the common folk know the secret now (multiple grams of gear, 10s of ius of gh + slin, and the genetics to assimilate it all). When pumping iron came out there was still an allure about bodybuilding.
Also it doesn't help that arnold, serge and lou had more pleasing physiques than the blown up pin cusions of today.
I think an arab one would make a better movie though (with big rami as the main focus, could focus on his chase for the arnold/olympia and also focus on the national level arab bb scene). Them guys have more streamlined physiques and would probably be more open about the aas use which would make it more interesting than the waffle spewed by kai and phillip.

Another thing that hurts it, besides the older guys from Pumping Iron having more personality, is that Generation Iron is so spread out. With Pumping Iron, you got to see a lot more interaction between multiple bodybuilders amongst themselves which helps take some of the edge off the slow spots. With Generation Iron, it's a lot more one on one, which really makes the slow spots drag on.

Hearing all the stories of the infamous "Branch falling off the horse" I assumed it was going to be some comical, awkward, tumble because he was uncoordinated or clumsy or something...Couldn't have been more wrong.
The horse flips out and Branch fucking tanks that shit on a hard dirt driveway, and immediately rolls up to a kneeling position. Fell from a legit 6 feet from a wild bucking horse....Jesus

I've only watched the first 30 mins so far - the thing with Roelly and the Grandma is very strange. Maybe it's my soft gullible side coming out but maybe it's a completely innocent relationship where she gets comfort from being needed for something after the loss of her husband. She was always involved in bodybuilding before Roelly came along anyway. Then again, she just might be his drug dealer or certainly a connection for.

I have to be honest and say it was quite shit. Didn't feel any inspiration or anything seeing Phil and Kai pose with their big guts. Can't believe they zoomed in on the distended guts.
I think Roelly, Wolf and Victor were the most interesting to look at. Kai was alright.
The whole thing lacked story.. and the music often sounded like I was at a thai massage parlor...
I have seen many documentaries on bb that is much better.
Phil was not a portrayed villiain by editing either.. he was just himself like everyone else.
Forgettable.. I think they should have done it with jay or ronnie before this current crop.

Whether it's great or not, I have to have it. I have all the original Pumping Iron's and the latest Collectors Edition. I have all IFBB shows from the past, Mike Mentzers H.I.T vids, Dorian Yates original Blood and Guts (on VHS) ~ the list goes on. I had no choice.
I'm sure I'll find enjoyment in it somewhere, but I have no hidden expectations.
It's not like they are gonna break loose and show us how and where they inject their shit EVERY DAY and what pills they take and who they bang....
It's just a facade vid like all the others.
Franco Columbu was NOT chosen to play the part he played in the original Pumping Iron. Ed Corney was, but Ed had... 'better' things to do? Yeah, he was in it, but that's only when he wasn't... uhmmmmmmmmm... "fraternizing' with the females on the set.
