Title: Do you tan?
Post by: FermiDirac on April 27, 2014, 02:48:09 AM
Well, do you? It feels like such wasted potential to spend all that time becoming a muscle hunk (no homo) and losing out on the extra definition that a solid tan confers. It's a loss for the sluts and the schmoes alike.

So do you tan?

No, I am pale as fuck. There's not much sun in my country and laying on a tanning beds seems gay.

Same here, though I've started to tan now in the spring. I look like a reversed black face, milky white skin, though lucky enough to not have those disgusting blue veins.

It's only gay if you overdo the tanning.

Isn't it only gay if you want it to be?

If there was a pill that would make my skin SLIGHTLY darker I would take it. Yes, there is melanotan, but it is just temporary

LOL, yeah it's subjective, but I was referring to that typical douchebag look :-X
There's not much sun here in Northern Europe, so I tan once a week.

Never piss on a tanning bed bought from Caliber Fitness, it might be your last piss...

Tan a little. You don't need to turn into a mulattomutanto especially if you're pale. But some sun is good for "you're" overall well being and looks better than being totally white white.
Ivory pale is hot for chicks but kinda twinky for males.

i tan about once a week,
tried different things and it turns out a couple of minutes is all it takes to make most of the backne go away, so it's pretty sweet

oh and you don't have to use a bed if you're afraid of teh gays, there are 'stand up' versions too  ;D

I'll run over a cyclist and plant a donor card on him when I need a new one.

On a serious note, never heard melanotan was hepatoxic.

I do stand up. Only problem is one side of dick is pale. I've tried doing helicoptors for the duration but it is tiring.

HGH makes acne go away alltogether, you might wanna try it.

Actually "laying on a bed" was a parallel, I am terrified by them. Very thought that I would have to close it and lay there, being sorrounded by glass gives me creeps. I used to choose tanning 'stations' where I could tan standing up but it still felt pretty gay to me.

I'm about to tan.  I thought it might be a good idea to get a base tan before I go on my next trip in may. I dont want to be burned to a crisp and miserable while on the trip.

I try to in the summer. Either by lounging around my pool or on my balcony (top floor baby). When I was younger (late teens/early 20's) I hit the tanning beds at the gym.

I used a special booth back in the day. Only used partial uv rays, was getting ready for beach spring break. Anyway, tanned nicely was totally expecting to not burn in the sun... Burnt like a piece of salmon on the foreman.

I'm gonna do 3-4 sessions in a tanning booth with some Melanotan-II.... how important is it to use a tanning lotion?  I was probably just gonna rub myself down with some coconut oil instead

Do I tan?  Nope.  It is due to my predominately eeeeevile caucasional heritage that I am sorely lacking in melanin and therefor it takes a minimum of three or four months of gradually increasing solar exposure (starting at 30 seconds and advancing to maybe an hour over that three or four month period  ;D) to get a tan that will last maybe a few days once I stop exposure.

I wish I could tan.  Burn and peel, baby.  That's my lot.   ;D

Well up in my neck of woods, just below beautiful Vancouver,BC. We only see a few months of real sunshine a year. Mostly a large layer of grey clouds and rain. So I tend to run towards Las Vegas at least twice a year to get a shot of Sunday's. I go to my local gym Nd hit the stand up tan booth for a few weeks before I go so I don't burn like a hotdog at the pool. I know it's not healthy to do but you sure look better with a good tan.

Much better idea. save your money, cologne infused lotions don't make a diff in my opinion from regular lotions. You just want your skin to be hydrated. (I consider myself a semi-expert tanner.)

No they aren't. It's artificial light for one. Fluro lights are bad for the skin as well

No tanning for me, I'm as pale as a fish belly, with blue veins...  :'(
Oh, and a lot of freckles...  :D

There's not much sun here in Northern Europe, so I tan once a week.

And even this little bit of sun is enough for me to burn to blisters. 'Luckily' before the burning starts, the sun allergy kicks in. Add some hay fever (grass) to that and yes, I love summer...  :-[ :'(

Makes the difference between artifical and natural light?
I read an article in readers digest years ago about how artifical light is worse than the sunlight. An example is melanomas being on the bottom of the feet... Where it never sees the sun.

I was curious whether it was the spectrum of light used in tanning beds.  I read the same thing but I don’t remember exactly what the reason was.

mmm.... that may mean that melanomas are not sun dependant.
You can get skin cancer regardless of the sun.

I have read about it. It's helpful in areas where there is lack of natural sun for months on end. There is evidence that Sunbeds increase the chances of skin cancer . Otherwise they wouldn't be making it impossible to obtain new parts here in Australia.

You can get skin cancer regardless of the sun.

Being a two time intense melanoma surgery patient I have read a lot on this. Many think that the cancer can travel from the injury location and bloom in another place...bottom of feet, gums and anus. Where the sun don't shine. Melanomas can also travel to the bowel and lung. And yes, tanning beds are BAD. I owned one at the time of my first lesion. Doc told me that he sees a lot of melanoma on Hispanic men who work out doors WITHOUT their traditional large hats and Hispanic women who tan....something not done in their past culture.

I think you're accurate in that assumption, very high rates of depression within the field of physics/math. Might be part vitamin D3 deficiency and part the obsession that comes naturally with the subjects.
