Hopefully we never see a video of that.

Good example that show the importance of calves in overall leg flow and proportion.

Anyone who has been around enough hard core gyms seems the occasional guy with quads like that. Usually they develop on guys are are deficient in other areas, such as overall torso dimensions, delts, or they are overly short or blocky. But if they can be developed on a perfectly proportioned skeletal structure, then they can look great!

How’s he doing?

The sprinters in the bike world have incredible legs. Maybe that would be helpful for weight trainers to bike with a high gear for some intervals.

The muscle gain comes from weights, not the bike. Case in point look at TDF pros who have legs like toothpicks.
The benefit of cycling exercise is capillary development inside the muscle which when allows more oxygen and nutrients to flow in. Drugs and weights benefit from that and can help build bigger muscle. That’s the track sprinters.
Track sprinters would ride for 1-2hrs at walking pace 50% HR and then do 1 or 2 sprints and go home.

You are way off. The gearing on those bikes are so high you couldn't pedal it 100 yards.

I raced on the velodrome and my background is cycling 😉
The strength stuff you think of now was all the rage 20yrs ago and discussed and tested to death. 50rpm sets, one legged sets, one legged squats, all sorts of stuff.

Interesting - care to elaborate on this a bit more?
