Reason why i doubt it is because if he shot himself in the hand,
97% chance he would have severed a tendon. Now, after
he shoots himself, he holds his hand straight with his fingers
straight out. Simple anatomy, severed tendon= no control of a finger.
He wouldn't be able to hold at least one of his fingers straight out.

Possible that he knew to shoot between the tendons. Looked like a 22 (corrected) so small caliber. Simple flesh wound. Still a dumbass.
