Bill Clinton's alleged sexual misconduct: Who you need to know
By Eric Bradner, CNN
Thu January 7, 2016 | Video Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)Hillary and Bill Clinton dodged questions Thursday about the former president's alleged and admitted sexual misconduct. But nearly two decades after Bill Clinton's administration was rocked by sexual scandal, the stories are back in the news.

Clinton himself wouldn't address his transgressions when a reporter asked the former president about Trump's comments as he campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Iowa on Thursday.

Hillary Clinton's campaign also declined to comment on Trump's use of Bill Clinton's sex life on the campaign trail.

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, has repeatedly used Clinton's sex allegations to hit Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

In an Instagram video posted Thursday afternoon, Trump -- with the caption "Hillary and her friends!" -- highlights Hillary Clinton's relationships with Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby and Anthony Weiner, the former congressman who shared lewd pictures with women he'd met online while married to top Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

Trump has also used Bill Clinton's sex life in attacks on the campaign trail and on Twitter, where he condemned Clinton's "terrible record of women abuse."

Asked about Trump's attacks on Thursday, the 42nd president passed up an opportunity to hit back.

"I have no interest in getting involved in (Republican Party) politics or doing anything except working to help Hillary," Clinton told reporters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

"Donald Trump says a lot of things," he added.

Juanita Broaddrick, the woman who has accused Clinton of raping her decades ago while he was the attorney general of Arkansas, tweeted Wednesday: "I was 35 years old when Bill Clinton, Ark. Attorney General raped me and Hillary tried to silence me. I am now 73....it never goes away."

Hillary Clinton herself commented on sexual assault in general in a late-November tweet, saying, "Every survivor of sexual assault deserves to be heard, believed, and supported."

In early December, her comment came up on the campaign trail when, during a New Hampshire event, a woman asked, "You recently came out to say that all rape victims should be believed. But would you say that Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Willey and Paula Jones be believed as well?"

Clinton responded: "Well, I would say that everyone should be believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence."

Here's a list of the sex-related allegations Bill Clinton has faced.

It focuses only on the encounters detailed during Clinton's presidency -- not the allegations made or revealed before or after he left the White House. And it includes charges leveled by the women themselves.

Lewinsky affair
Monica Lewinsky -- The White House intern's affair during Clinton's first term in the President's private rooms in the West Wing is the most famous Clinton sex scandal of all, and eventually leading to Clinton's impeachment by the House. He was acquitted by the Senate. Clinton has admitted the relationship, telling the nation in a televised address that, "Indeed I did have a relationship with Ms. Lewinsky that was not appropriate."

Allegations of non-consensual encounters
Juanita Broaddrick -- The Arkansas nursing home administrator alleged in a 1999 Dateline NBC interview that Clinton had raped her in 1978, when she visited Little Rock for a nursing home seminar. The White House denied the allegations in 1999.

Paula Jones -- Jones has said that in 1991, Clinton propositioned her for sex and exposed himself when she was escorted to his room at a Little Rock hotel. She filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Clinton in 1994 -- two days before a three-year statute of limitations would have expired. Clinton agreed to a settlement in 1998 and paid Jones and her attorneys $850,000. And it was during that case that he initially denied having a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky.

Kathleen Willey -- The Democratic activist and White House volunteer said that in 1993, Bill Clinton grabbed and kissed her in the Oval Office's private study. Heckled over the accusation at a campaign event in New Hampshire on Sunday by a GOP state representative, Hillary Clinton emphatically declined to comment.

"You are very rude, and I'm not ever going to call on you," Clinton said forcefully, looking directly at the woman. "Thank you."

Allegations of affairs
Gennifer Flowers -- During Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, Flowers said she'd had a 12-year sexual relationship with Clinton -- reversing course from her earlier denial of such a relationship. In 1998, while under oath, Clinton admitted to a sexual encounter with Flowers.

Dolly Kyle Browning -- Clinton's high school friend said in a sworn declaration in 1998 that the two had off-and-on sexual encounters from the mid-1970s through January 1992. Clinton has not publicly responded to the allegation.

Elizabeth Ward Gracen -- The woman who won the Miss America crown at the age of 21 in 1982 reversed her six-year-old denial in 1998 and said she'd had a one-night stand with Clinton in 1982. Clinton has denied the accusations.

Sally Perdue -- The 1958 Miss Arkansas said in 1994 that she'd had an affair with Clinton while he was governor of Arkansas in 1983. She said she was told not to reveal the affair by a Democratic staffer in 1992 who she said warned "they knew that I went jogging by myself and he couldn't guarantee what would happen to my pretty little legs." Clinton also has not publicly responded to the allegation.

Sanders calls Bill Clinton's affair 'totally disgraceful and unacceptable'
By Joseph Weber
Published January 09, 2016
FoxNews.com

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said Friday night that former President Bill Clinton, now stumping on the campaign trail for wife Hillary Clinton, committed a “totally disgraceful” act in having an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Sanders’ remark was in response to a question at an Iowa town hall meeting, not part of a speech.

However, the Vermont senator had until this point in the primary season largely avoided saying anything negative related to the front-running Hillary Clinton, expect to attack her on policy issues.

“Look, Hillary Clinton is not Bill Clinton," Sanders said Friday. “What Bill Clinton did, I think we can all acknowledge, was totally, totally, totally disgraceful and unacceptable. But I am running against Hillary Clinton. I’m not running against Bill Clinton.”

But Sanders continues to trail Clinton by roughly 20 percentage points in national polls and needs to at least compete with her in first-in-the-nation primary state Iowa, which votes Feb.1 and where he once led Clinton. And he needs a solid showing in New Hampshire, which votes Feb. 9 and where he now trails by about 4 points.

Front-running 2016 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump and others have increasingly criticized Bill Clinton’s extra-marital past since his wife announced last month that he would stump for her starting in January. The Trump campaign has argued that its attacks are in response to the Clinton campaign accusing Trump of being sexist.

In Iowa, where Sanders, a self-described Democratic socialist, trails Clinton by rough 13 points, he nevertheless stuck Friday to his campaign strategy of distinguishing himself from Clinton and Republicans on the issues of income inequality and the so-called “disappearing middle class.”

“So what I am doing is contrasting my record with Hillary Clinton’s record, and they are very, very different records,” he said. “But I am not going to get into the personal stuff. … I’ve never run a negative TV ad in my life.”

LOL when the left does this to trump in a month, it'll be mean-spirited crap from decades ago that means nothing today.

of course, when it comes to bill clinton - a man who those hating on him voted for ;) - it's suddenly relevant.

We all know the Republicans are very offended when anyone brings up a candidates private life or more importnantly the private live of their spouses.

I sure they will be fully consistent on this issue...as they always are.

Repubs we ashamed of Bush.
They hated every minute of obama
They admit their congress is pwned by Reid/Obama and spending like drunken sailors - giving them both houses achieved NOTHING.

They want a win so bad.  They are shouting the praises of Trump, THAT is how bad things are.  Shitting on bill clinton - after many of them stumbled their liberal asses to the voting booths in 92 to put him in power - helps them to assuage that guilt.

One of the women who has accused former U.S. President Bill Clinton of sexual assault says she has agreed to work for an anti-Clinton political group being formed by a former advisor to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Kathleen Willey, a former White House volunteer who says Bill Clinton groped her in an Oval Office hallway in 1993 when she came to him tearfully seeking a paid job, said she had agreed to become a paid national spokeswoman for a group being created by Roger Stone.

Stone, a Republican strategist, said the group would become active should Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton's wife, win the Democratic nomination in the 2016 race for the White House. Clinton is currently the front runner.

"This gives me more of an opportunity to get this message out to young voters who weren't even born or don't even remember what happened and to the women who have suffered," Willey told Reuters.

Willey said she will give interviews and speeches and appear in political advertisements to ensure the accusations remain part of the political discourse during the election campaign.

"They're going to be confronted every day, on radio, on television, on billboards," Stone told Reuters, referring to the Clintons. He said he had reached a verbal agreement with Willey but cautioned that the group was still in the planning stages.

Spokesmen for Hillary and Bill Clinton did not respond to questions about Willey.

Stone's political action committee, which can raise virtually unlimited funds to advocate for or against candidates, was originally created last year under the name Women Against Hillary. It was renamed in January as the Rape Accountability Project for Education PAC, or RAPE PAC.

In a 1998 deposition, Clinton "emphatically" denied Willey's accusation he groped her, describing her as having "been through a lot" in reference to her family's financial woes and her husband's suicide on the day Willey says her encounter with Clinton happened.

Clinton has admitted having extra-marital affairs with two other women: Monica Lewinsky, a White House intern, and Gennifer Flowers, a singer and actor from his home state of Arkansas, but he and his lawyers have said accusations by other women are false.

It's not clear whether Stone's group will resonate with voters. A Reuters/Ipsos poll in January found that a majority of the public, including 68 percent of Democrats and 50 percent of Republicans, thought that Bill Clinton's past sexual misconduct "made no difference" in the current race.

Among women, 56 percent said it did not matter, while another 21 percent said it would hurt Hillary Clinton's chances of winning the election.

Several Republican candidates, particularly Trump, have reminded voters of the allegations while campaigning. The Clintons and their staff have dismissed this as dirty politics.

CLINTON ACCUSERS ARE BACK

Hillary Clinton's decision to advocate for victims of sexual assault has persuaded some of her husband's other accusers, including Juanita Broaddrick and Paula Jones McFadden, to wade into the political season.

Broaddrick and Willey say that Clinton, who has said victims of sexual assault have the "right to be believed," is being hypocritical by doubting her husband's accusers.

When asked about the accusations by Broaddrick, Jones McFadden and Willey at a campaign event in New Hampshire in December, Hillary Clinton replied that people who say they were sexually assaulted should be "believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence."

Stone released a book last year called "The Clintons' War on Women," for which Willey wrote the foreword. After leaving Trump's campaign, Stone created a pro-Trump political action committee, the Committee to Restore America's Greatness. He says he remains friendly with Trump.

Trump himself, angered at Hillary Clinton calling him sexist, described Bill Clinton as "one of the great women abusers of all time" and Hillary Clinton his "enabler" at a campaign event last month.

A spokeswoman for Trump, who is barred by Federal Election Commission rules from coordinating with super PACs, did not respond to questions.

Stone has also helped to set up an online fundraising page to help raise money to pay for Willey's mortgage, he said. She said she has been in financial difficult since her husband's suicide and is facing foreclosure on her Virginia home this month.

I'm not quite sure how trying to bash Hilary Clinton for the actions of her husband is going help get her sympathy from women or really anyone who doesn't already hate Clinton.

Repubs really are dumb as shit

Hilary cares.  She's buying ad time in my state so that 8 point lead (which will vary) turns into a win for her.

I don't want hilary either.   I'm rooting for Johnson to smash them both in the debates.  2016 sucks for political choices.

So I probably will vote dem. i'd love to see Obama choose a Wes Clark for a running mate, or a Jim Webb, possibly more likely, for strong military and defense credibility.

A website claiming to have hacked former Secretary of State Colin Powell's private emails has published correspondence that appears to show Powell accusing President Bill Clinton of adultery.
The emails are housed on password-protected DCLeaks.com, a website that security experts told Bloomberg appears to have some connection to the Russian intelligence.

One email posted by CBS News' Will Rahn appears to show Powell telling Democratic donor Jeffrey Leeds he hopes to avoid having to vote for Clinton, pointing to the New York Post's coverage of her husband's alleged misdeeds.

"I would rather not have to vote for her, although she is a friend I respect," he writes in the email dated July 26, 2014. "A 70-year-old person with a long track record, unbridled ambition, greedy, not transformational, with a husband still dicking bimbos at home (according to the NYP)."

President Clinton has been dogged by allegations of adultery for years, and his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky culminated in impeachment proceedings.

It's the latest controversial email to be surfaced by the leak — other conversations show Powell chiding GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and sharing concerns about Clinton's health with Leeds.

Powell could not be reached to comment on the specific email, but spokeswoman Peggy Cifrino told The Washington Post Wednesday that "the general has been hacked and that these are his emails."

Trump camp returns fire, targets Clintons’ treatment of women
Published September 30, 2016

Donald Trump’s campaign is signaling that Bill Clinton’s history of affairs and alleged sexual misconduct – as well as Hillary Clinton’s treatment of the women involved – is now fair game, after his Democratic opponent took the first shot by calling out his own negative comments toward women at Monday’s debate.

The Republican nominee took a direct swipe at the former president during a New Hampshire rally on Thursday, in a sign of jabs to come.

"The American people have had it with years and decades of Clinton corruption and scandal," Trump said. "And impeachment for lying. … Remember that?"

Trump and his surrogates argue that Clinton opened the door when she raised accusations during Monday’s debate that Trump called former Miss Universe Alicia Machado names like “Miss Piggy” and taunted her.

In an early morning tweet-storm, Trump hammered Clinton and Machado for teaming up against him -- and referenced Machado’s checkered past.

Meanwhile, Trump's campaign seems poised to openly discuss not only Bill Clinton’s sex scandals but Hillary Clinton’s alleged treatment of his accusers.

“Part of it is … how Hillary Clinton has poorly treated women for many, many years,” retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, a Trump supporter, told “Fox & Friends” on Friday.

“If you look at her being an enabler, really, in the ‘90s and really attacking these women, it goes against everything that she now tries to spout as a candidate for president,” David Bossie, Trump’s deputy campaign manager, said on the same program.

Such comments are part of a new game plan. According to a talking points memo reported by CNN and NBC News, the campaign is urging surrogates to discuss how Hillary Clinton “bullied” women tied to her husband’s controversies.

“Hillary Clinton bullied and smeared women like Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers and Monica Lewinsky,” according to the reported talking points.

The memo suggests stressing that the former first lady “has been an active participant in trying to destroy the women” who have made allegations against Bill Clinton.

The Democratic nominee, asked Thursday by reporters about the apparent Trump push to invoke her husband’s controversies and impeachment, did not respond directly.

“He can say whatever he wants to say. … and I’m going to run my campaign talking about what I think the American people are interested in,” Clinton said.

Before Monday’s debate, Trump tweeted possible plans to invite Gennifer Flowers, Bill Clinton’s former mistress. The campaign did not follow through on the threat – though after Clinton was seen by many analysts as getting the better of Trump during that debate, the GOP nominee said he had been holding back and threatened to hit harder in the next round.

In the interim, the campaign’s talking points appear to have been read by several surrogates.

“There continues to be this conversation about what he has said but when you look at what she has done – Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky … My goodness, Monica Lewinsky had to start an anti-bullying campaign because of what the Clintons did,” said Tennessee Rep. Marsha Blackburn, a Trump supporter, said during an interview on MSNBC on Wednesday.

Some Republicans are urging against Trump digging into the ‘90s past, including a Republican at the forefront of the impeachment push, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

"It's totally the wrong direction to go," Gingrich said, according to The Washington Post. "He should not let them bait him into a swamp where they can revel in the mud."

Republican consultant Sarah Lenti told FoxNews.com “Clinton was not right for bringing [Machado] into the debate and the campaign obviously sought her out. But what Trump would be better off doing is rolling out a new policy proposal every day that affects women in a positive way, by talking about national security in a way that goes beyond building a wall.”

Clinton’s campaign insists any reference to either Bill Clinton’s past or Hillary’s participation in his defense is simply a distraction tactic.

“After his disastrous debate performance and his sexist attack on a former Miss Universe over her weight, Donald Trump is now trying to deflect by going after Hillary Clinton about her marriage," spokesman Brian Fallon said Wednesday in a statement.

But, after a period over the summer where Bill Clinton’s past seemed to fade as a campaign issue, its return to the political fray may be inevitable.

Juanita Broaddrick, who accused Bill Clinton of rape decades ago (an allegation he denies), has become more active on Twitter, attacking both Clintons and singling out Chelsea Clinton for defending her father.

That was after Chelsea Clinton told Cosmopolitan magazine that any attack on her parents was “a distraction from his inability to talk about what’s actually at stake in this election.”

The discussion could cut both ways for Hillary Clinton herself. The Washington Post detailed how Clinton “helped forge aggressive defenses” as other women from her husband’s past emerged after Flowers.

Lenti notes the respective attacks by Clinton, Trump and their surrogates harden support among their base voters, but do not expand their appeal among critical independent or undecided voters.

Whether Trump directly goes after Hillary Clinton on this front in the next debate remains to be seen, but he may have to be careful. A NBCNews|SurveyMoney poll taken after the first presidential debate showed 22 percent of likely women voters said the debate made them think worse of Trump and nearly a third said the debate improved their opinion of Clinton.
