Japan's Toyota hands St Petersburg plant over to Russian state

Russia and Toyota said on Friday that the Japanese carmaker's factory in St Petersburg had been handed over to state entity NAMI, with Moscow snapping up more assets from global automakers leaving Russia over the conflict in Ukraine.

France's Renault sold its majority stake in Russia's Avtovaz for reportedly just one rouble, but with a six-year option to buy it back. NAMI paid one euro for Nissan's assets.

Russia has completely outmaneuvered Western Europe. It’s real risk now is not the West but becoming a Chinese vassal state. Then again, many countries will suffer this fate as China moves into the number one position globally.

Not hardly.

Russia is done.  Even by "winning" against the Ukraine they lose.  Demographically they are done. 

China will soon be done for various reasons as stated in a previous post.

Both will remain somewhat relevant due to nuclear weapons of course.

But their ability to influence the world is soon over.

OR Russia is playing directly in the US hands of deglobalisation. With Russia seizing assets it makes money scared to leave its native borders.

Move ahead a bit and now consider what impact sanctions on China will have. Domestic industry will boom as industry comes back onshore.
