Liz warren is receiving rock star receptions from ultra-libs. Obama got the same thing in 2004, and he beat out an unexciting moderate candidate (Hilary). I could see this happening again. The BASE shows up, they donate, and they show a TON of love to extremist candidates. moderates, on the other hand, vote and maybe give a few bucks, but not the kind of diehard devotion that obama recieved in 2008, that Warren could get in 2016.
That being said... Obama DID win in 2008. Thanks to being the #1 lib. And it could happen again, IF repubs run another RINO that doesn't rile up their own base. If hilary runs, then the repubs can run anyone and may win, may lose. But IF the Dems run Warren, I think the republicans HAVE TO choose a Cruz or Rand, someone the base LOVES. history (08 and 12) has shown an extreme lib WILL win if a RINO runs.
