200m butterfly in 1:52:03 = 6.3 km/h which is around 3.9 miles/h

Timothy McVeigh is a better role model.
weird piece of information:
two of the witnesses who saw Mcveigh executed told msnbc's dan abrams that he was still breathing after they supposedly injected him and declared him dead.
Additionally, mcveigh was videotaped in a documentary with a special ops Army explosives unit, over a year after he was officially discharged by army records.
These aren't conspiracy theories, these are facts.

That guy looks smarter than phelps too.

Bob costas was interviewing an old olympic vet.
he said 1/2 of the chinese girls are too young to compete, but the govt serves them up fake IDs.
I wonder if that'll lead to some flak.

Good question. I saw that too. Considering that it was on NBC, which is owned by GE, who have very substantial investments in China's new economy; I doubt it ever comes up again. At least not on that network. Bet we won't be seeing that old olympic vet again.

Innocent? How do you know they are innocent?
Most of those camel jockeys died at the hands of their own countrymen. Seems like you forgot the many months that Sunnis and Shiites spent killing each other. Once the followers of the holy religion of Islam saw they couldn't defeat the Americans they turned to causing chaos by pitting those 2 factions against each other. Ahhhhh, but you rather believe that American soldiers intentionally kill civilians.
I am sure there have been innocent civilians killed by the USA. There will never be and there never has been a war where innocent individuals were not killed. But you act as if the USA is solely to be blamed for all of those deaths. You are naive.
Also, I have read a lot of your posts. Seems like you have an obsession with Bush. Pretty sick.

Some people believe that when you remove the entire social infrastructure - police, military, economics... you create a chaos which encourages warlords and roving death squads.
It's like locking 20 kids in a room full of bleach bottles and turning up the heat to 90 degrees. When you come back in two days and find they've been drinking bleach, you can say "stupid kids!" or you can look at the set of circumstances you created.
We dismantled every government process EXCEPT the oil ministry. We sent home police and military - despite the warnings of the worlds leaders - and they became bad guys. What would happen in the USA if Russia took over and they disbanded the military? You'd have ten million plus broke dudes, well trained, who took their weapons home when their paychecks stopped coming. And they'd be pissed...
We created the environment.
-
The WHOLE social infrastructure was under Hussein's control. It had to be dismantled and built up from scratch by allowing BOTH the Sunnis and Shiites to be participants in its workings. How can you go to another country, topple their dictator and yet keep the very elements that kept that dictatorship alive for the past 30 years? You can't. You have to get rid of those elements. It needed to be done.
In some cases, the USA allowed members of Hussein's personal guard to be part of Iraq's military and they paid for it because some of them were involved in organizing those "death squads" that went around killing Shiites.
The destruction of oil pipelines were done by Syrians, Iranians, Jordanians, and Saudis crossing the border trying to disturb the economy and the efforts to install a new government. Both religious factions were in a civil war for many months which contributed greatly to the Iraqi death toll. The USA made some mistakes. No doubt about it. But, the USA military is in no way responsible for the 10s of thousands of civilians that have died. You want to seek blame for that then just look at the friction between Sunnis and Shiites and the Jihadists crossing the border into Iraq.

Back to the topic. I don't know how fast Phelps swim. I just know the guy is fast.
The other day on one of the breaststroke semifinal races, he was in second place. Another swimmer had at least half a body length on him. They made the final turn and all of the sudden he was ahead of the guy. Just caught up to him and beat everyone else by over a body length.

BTW, if you think there is nothing wrong in China, or that they are even remotely civil in their treatment of humanity, you'd better educate yourself. I speak the truth, there is NO political correctness here. PC is for weak-spermed fags. get something DONE dude, instead of just talking about it.

Cap I can understand why you say that. The fact is though Asia is not the US. Many of my students are of tiny stature, and many of the boys tower over me. The body types are vast and different. This is a country of 1.3 billion people, there are going to be girls like these gymnasts who don't look their age.

"The Times found two online records of official registration lists of Chinese gymnasts that list He’s birthday as Jan. 1, 1994, which would make her 14. A 2007 national registry of Chinese gymnasts — now blocked in China but viewable through Google cache — shows He’s age as “1994.1.1.”
Another registration list that is unblocked, dated Jan. 27, 2006, and regarding an “intercity” competition in Chengdu, China, also lists He’s birthday as Jan. 1, 1994. That date differs by two years from the birth date of Jan. 1, 1992, listed on He’s passport, which was issued Feb. 14, 2008.
There has been considerable talk about the ages of Chinese gymnasts on Web sites devoted to the sport. And there has been frequent editing of He’s Wikipedia entry, although it could not be determined by whom. One paragraph that discusses the controversy of her age kept disappearing and reappearing on He’s entry. As of Friday, a different version of the paragraph had been restored to the page.
The other gymnast, Jiang, is listed on her passport — issued March 2, 2006 — as having been born on Nov. 1, 1991, which would make her 16 and thus eligible to compete at the Beijing Games.
A different birth date, indicating Jiang is not yet 15, appears on a list of junior competitors from the Zhejiang Province sports administration. The list of athletes includes national identification card numbers into which birth dates are embedded. Jiang’s national card number as it appears on this list shows her birth date as Oct. 1, 1993, which indicates that she will turn 15 in the fall, and would thus be ineligible to compete in the Beijing Games"

Phelps won gold medal #7 today.
BEIJING -Michael Phelps beat Milorad Cavic of Serbia to the wall to win the 100-meter butterfly Saturday, tying Mark Spitz’s record of seven gold medals at a single Olympics.
With his arms fully outstretched, the American touched in 50.58 seconds, brreaking Cavic’s Olympic record of 50.76 set in the semifinals.
Cavic, who was still in mid-stroke at the wall, took the silver in 50.59, a mere 0.01 seconds behind Phelps. Andrew Lauterstein of Australia earned the bronze in 51.12.
It was the first race of these games in which Phelps didn’t set a world record.
Crocker, the world record-holder, was fourth in 51.13.
Phelps won the event four years ago in Athens, and Crocker finished second.

SO FUCKING STUPID
Your quoting the New York Times. Ha I rest my case, media beat up by the US because you can't cut it. Where is the real proof? There isn't any!
-
A lot of it comes down to the fact that these Asian gymnast girls start training at 2-3 years of age and never really take a break. They damage they're Growth Plates quite significantly. Thats why they are so small (under 5ft), they haven't given themselves a chance to grow properly.
This can also affect their development and menstrual cycles (or lack thereof). They look like little kids because they haven't technically hit puberty yet, even if they are 17,18 years old. Some are under the age of 16, but most of them are over 16 years old, they just look 8 years old.
