As a follower of Bodybuilding for many years I'm still to this day upset that Haney won the 1990th Mr Olympia, in my mind he should've been 3rd with Shawn Ray and Labrada fighting for the first place!

I agree with you but, these guys are three shriveled up prunes today. Let's talk about the circus we call Professional bodybuilding today.

Who in the bodybuilding profession has gotten busted lately? Inquiring minds want to know!

The tested show, lots of casualties that year.

Benfatto looked great, Christian looked good, Gaspari didn't.

Labrada 1st, Ray 2nd, Haney 3rd Benfatto 4th, Mike Christian 5th, Eddie Robinson 6th, Gaspari 7th. IMO...

I was at the show. Although he looked great, I doubt that Shawn Ray was much over 185 lbs. Mike Christian was the only competitor that looked like he stayed on the gear heavily and still passed the drug test. Demay, Benazesa(sp), and a few others failed the test. Vince Taylor didn't make it through the prejudging, looked horrible.

in a post contest interview, i remember they said Haney's drug test was the cleanest of all competitors.  wtf???  either you are clean or not. that is like saying your daughter is the least pregnant!

I remember that!! 'It was the cleanest and had been for some time.'

How can you tell that!

Fucking FLEX.

Dorian could have won that year. 1991 Haney was too big.

YEAH BENFATTO looked really good and now 18 yrs later he is bigger than in his prime there huh....

Bigger, but still a tight waist, and kept the lines. Imagine he had taken todays shape minus the muscle tears, to the stage then...
