damn!
-
That guy used to play a quad guitar
-
He should stick with one guitar !
That was just a lot of noise....
No wonder Segovia called the electric guitar an abomination.
No rhythm or melody.................t otal mess
Maybe he has other cuts?

i told you it was a show peice....
i forgot to mention, if you dont play guitar, dont bother to watch it, because you wont be able to appreciate it.
-
But I do play.....Ibanez
-
That was fucking sick. I dont play guitars or like cheesy hair but that shit was crazy!!!!!!
Extremely talented guy. How the christ did he learn to do that?
-
That was great ;D
Check this Batio solo out:

yeah thats a good one, i personally like the 'time traveller' solo, he sounds like a computer
-
You fcuking m'phags.
I'm sensing a Dream Theater post or likewise coming soon too.
"Ah, yeah... Perfect...Elite music, those instrumentalists....WOW. .. Dream Theater...wow...mmmyeahh ..."

that was awesome. I have never seen this guy before but he is amazing.
Dream Theater is an awesome band but they get way too much credit this is one of the most amazing guitar solos I have ever seen
-
hopefully you are joking
-
like Dream theater is a great band but they are really over hyed. I am not saying that they are bad just that there are better bands. The music is good but I have have heard better. I am into harder stuff than that.
-
yea it is all about prefrence. I like that kind of stuff but I like people like Kerry King, Dimebag, Kirk Hammet, Zakk Wylde, and Randy Rhoades and more like that.I used to play bass so I am really into people like Les Claypool and Geddy Lee, Flea I am a huge fan of music of any kind so like I say I like DT but they are not really my style but they are some awesome muscians
-
I dont know alot about him but I am trying to download some of his stuff right now so I will let you know what I think when I listen to him. What do you think about guitarist like Gary Hooey? It may soun lame but his christmas tunes are really good I am not into christmas music but if you have ever heard it, it is amazing
-
he plays stand up so he is good in my book
-
technically speaking, dream theater is top notch. as far as their songs go, they are hit or miss imo. they have some really cool songs, and some really lame ones. that probably just comes with the territry though, with a progressive/experimental type band.
-
Hey Swede. Don't talk crap about Dream Theater. They are the best. The title track from Octavarium make my eyes all full of tears and shit. John Petrucci is god >:(
HAHAHA What a little Norwegian ball pincher f.aggot
Now go tell your mom and cry some more HAHAHAHAH
-
My vote goes to that dude with no arms who plays with his toes. Catch him on an all night religious cable channel when you can't sleep.

How about this? It's piano.
-
Killer Spinal Tap wig!
-
I'll take a guy who plays with feeling like SRV over this guy anyday. :)
-
Not impressed with solo. That shit is like straight off a steve vai or iron maiden album, but completely unoriginal.
More impressed with bass players like Victor Wooten and Michael Manring play two basses at the same time.
-
Dream Theater is one of the best of the best. Octovarium is a great CD and an increadible song. The Moog solo is killer
-
Don't have Octovarium, but I like the Awake album, didn't like the next two though.

this guy, vai, and iron maiden are all NOTHING alike....
there is nothing even remotely close to this on any maiden album, and vai is mostly overly-artsy faggy wierd shit.

I don't know why anyone thinks Steve Vai is a great guitarist?

Isn't he the fag who started the whole 7 string trend?
Now some buffons, who shall remain nameless, are doing 8 string guitars.
Steve Vai is ghey.
Gimme sum duck walkin Chuck.

Or some Bo Diddley! Damn right Zack! Chuck Berry did it first and best!

Yes, innovative and ground breaking guitarists with great abilities are second to all 5 tone minor pentatonic repetative cliche bastards who play with "feel". ::) :-*
Vai has a lot of "feel" in his playing, and he's one of the greatest ever, but you actually has to really dig into his music to understand that ;) (Some of his music is a bit "out there" though)
You think Vai is in the same league as SRV or BB King? I hope not.
-
I "rank" him higher than those two.
To each his own. I really don't think Vai has made quite the impact that SRV or King have made.
-

If you ever even listened to any of Adrian Smith's soloing, esp Somewhere in time, it's the same kinda shit. It even reminds me of Kirk Hammets playing in Damage INc., and a little but of Marty Freedman's work in Rust in Peace.
And of course, it reeks of Dream Theater, esp the use of double bass.
-
It depends on what you're looking for when evaluating a musician, agree with that.
My personal favorites are Joe Perry in Aerosmith's early days and 1978 to 1985 Eddie Van Halen.
-

Concur. I'm not into this double guitar gimmick action either, albeit the talent to do it is through the roof.
-
Vai is a great guitarist. I dont get into his music alot but he is really good.I dont think he has had as much of an influnce as SRV or some other guitarist but he is still one of the best.Like I said in my previous post I am more into hard fast metal. I think that Kerry King is one of the best for his genre. As far as bass goes I like Peter Steele from Type O Negative alot he is not the best but he is really good.
-
Vai IS a great guitarist....but his music Sucks.
the one exception is For the Love of God....listen to that song, and tell me theres no feeling. that is the single most expressive guitar work ive ever heard and thats saying a lot.

I agree with you there. Without great songs you don't have much left. No matter how you can shred.
-
Stick this in your bong and smoke it

yes its true. but you should still check out For the Love of God-his only good song, it is amazing.
-

amazing. violinists were the first shredders- Paganini was Malmsteen's main inspiration
-
violin is tripple difficult. you got no frets, bowing technique, you gotta read music, i used to play but totally quit. it's too damned hard and you gotta practice day and night and pay some old fart 60 dollars an hour.
