sad, yes people die everyday but my heart does go out to the driver, Roadas, who left behind wife and kids. If they were really going that fast on a public street, then that is fucking stupid and selfish IMO

I've heard those. What I do find odd and bothersome is that he was announced dead as a hoax on Friday, then he really did Saturday. That's too much of a coincidence for me.

I don't know, the car was majority carbon fiber, with a carbonfiber tub. Which acts differently than metal. One would expect that the rear would step out, due to it being a RWD and mid engined, and squirrely nature of the car. That is all I know. And from what another source had said, the fire apparently broke out in the front. But, I don't know if that is true or not.

Man, I hope they died on impact.

I still don't buy the CT stuff, but it is quite odd the camera zoomed and moved right before crash

Conspiracy-Theories regarding this
http://www.ibtimes.com/paul-walker-murder-conspiracy-theories-link-family-guy-typhoon-haiyan-death-1491980
Bullshit...brakes not working at a certain speed? WTF, the car was driven there correct? Basically the car in itself is a dangerous car, and one that bites back if you aren't careful. Something happened, and then it crashed. The end. People don't need to try and connect all these dots. Could there be some metaphysical "foreshadowing"? There is always the possibility of that, but at this juncture, I'd say no.
Man, I hope they died on impact.
Me too.

Yep, and apparently what the news is saying that street racing was ruled out, and the car was going about 40-45 miles an hour, not 160 mph (who came up with that?) and came to a bend in the road where the speed drops down to 15 mph, and the driver lost control.
A very dangerous car, known for being squirrely, and it's mid engined, meaning that it can easy to rotate, goes into a bend in a road...

Wonder what other developments...

That's a real scary car if it blew up at 40-45 MPH!  After watching the video I was thinking 65 to 75.

most porsches (911's at least) were always super solid to me (raced them for years), but the GT looks a bit different.. I've never driven one, but it looks like it may handle a bit like an NSX or Lotus, which to me were 'knife-edge' handling cars.... in which the back end would snap around VERY quick if you're not carefull... there's no "play" in the backend (no "drifting").

makes me seriously reconsider picking up that NSX I've been looking at. Unless im on a track, i'll take a big, safe S-Class.

The back end of my Lotus was nearly impossible to snap around.

The car was came from an aborted Le Mans race car project. I don't know if it was the GT1 class or not. Just like Ferrari had the F50 GT1, but they only built three. And the GT1 class was shutdown due to the Mercedes CLR flipping. One driven by now F1 driver Mark Webber (who ironically will be driving for Porsche's Le Man's effort).

So, basically the Carrera GT was originally planned as a race-car from the start and then turned into a street car.

If it had been a maserati it would have been doing 185.

one of our team members had a 96 esprit v8 that was great in a straight line, entering the corner, and as long as you were stable, powering out of the corner, but any break in traction in the rear would bring the end around quick. unforgiving as fuck... many times I thought I was gonna wrap it around a light pole when "testing" it in Quallcom's parking lot.

Or at least sounded like it was, and was only going 25...

Could the car really have been going at 45 mph and crashed like that? I find it hard to believe

It's not an ordinary car though....look at the materials constructing it.
