How's the web design business being affected by our current economic situation?

Anything noticeable?

It's more highs and lows now.

Like, when the new predicts the end of the world for a few ddays, nobody buys.  Then, the 1st or 15th arrives (paydays) and everyone buys at once.

I've had a lot of personal trainers contact me in the last month trying to reach new audiences.  Turns out when the money gets tight, many people cut their PT before they cut food, rent, and gas.  So a lot of PTs are losing their regular clientele, and see an affordable website as a way to boost some new business.
