Seems to be a very possible reality. Doesn't make sense how he never would fight Anderson Silva at 185 in his prime because he is "too big" and now, he comes back for this fight.

Not a fan of GSP's boring, predictable, fighting style. Round 1: Jab!... Jab!...Jab! Ding! Round 2: Jab!... Jab!... Jab! Ding! And so on, all the way to a Judges decision. I like aggressive fighters with a killer instinct, who fight to end fights, not coast along 5 rounds, ultimately going to the judges decision each fight like GSP does.

This is bullshit. GSP was shot when he retired a couple years ago. Was VERY lucky to get the benefit of the doubt in his last two victories.
While I don't hate Bisping as so many do, this is turning into some McGregor type UFC bullshit favoritism.

GSP has a half inch reach advantage.
Bisping is only a couple inches taller.
The weight difference might play a role, but GSP walks around right near 185

Cant stand gsp's fighting style. Should've lost to Hendricks. Havent seen many fights, much less title fights that were as blatantly one-sided as that one... And im not even a Hendricks fan (his lack of discipline in making weight bothers me... Plus dude needs a haircut. He looks like a homeless alcoholic. Just shave it).
2 years ago i wouldve said give Hendricks a shot at gsp atn185 for GSPs first fight coming back, but hendricks has since kinda fallen off.
Maybe id rather see gsp-wonderboy, since their styles are a lil similar (striking wise at least... Havent really seen wonderboy lay-n-pray like gsp though). Woodley-gsp migjt be good, but i cant stand woodley with his " poor me/ufc is racist" bullshit. If i were dana, id shelf him or give him low draw opponents and pay him 30% less than he thinks hes worth.
I also cant stand bisping. Nothing stands out to me striking-wise (or grappling/sub wise, for that matter)... But it's his attitude that really turns me away. Not many fighters make me hope they get embarrased as much as bisping does. (woodley, jamie varner, faber, derrik lewis, crazy horse bennet, & anderson silva all come to mind).
... That being said, ppl are saying gsp's ground game/wrestling/subs have really really improved.
Still won't even bother watching a free live-stream of the figjt.

Something you need to understand is that GSP does not stand still and do nothing. He's obsessed. When he was nobody, he took Greyhound from Montreal to New York (9 hours each way) on weekends to train with the best. Normal person does not do that. Only the best is good enough for GSP. I can assure you he has studied the sport in the last 3 years and adapted. His come back is not going to be a half assed money grabbing come back. No way.

He was clearly deteriorating the last two times he fought. Sure, it's possible he pulls the rabbit out of the hat one more time,
but not likely. They can't all be Sugar Ray Charles Leonard.

Then 40% of the cards will be fucked... Organizations will lose money having to fly in potential replacements. Guys fight camps will be fucked. Championships will mean even less than they do now.. Etc...
Better idea would be to allow 5-6lbs over the weight, but dock them 15% of the purse and still allow championships to change hands and dont give the opponent to accept or refuse the fights.

I wish him the best. Tend to like him. But he had become so boring and without that need-to-kill instinct.
As well, as with anything else at a high level, a few years away from that "perpetual motion" can be extremely showing. I'm sure he's been training/keeping active, but I think he's been wrestling with whether he just wants to stay done.
When that mindset begins to creep in, you're in trouble.
However, as I say, he's a likeable guy and obviously very talented and athletic, so I hope I'm wrong.

This. To think GSP has finally come to terms to accept the 185 challenge after a 4 year layoff is incredible.

He has the same problem all boxers and MMA fighters have. They can't retire until they are defeated multiple times and decisively. Very few go out on top. He has been away for too long. He will be defeated easily.

They would have many more heavy weights then. There are tons of guys at 185 and 205 who walk around well over 205

I met GSP once and he seemed like a really nice guy. I always root for him. Fighting is a young man's game though.

Boring blanket fighter who hasn't been anyway exciting since he beat Serra in the rematch. It pains me to watch 25mins of gsp , bisping and is boring in the cage too but at least he's a character outside it. I think the ufc new owners have overvalued how much ppl want to see gsp fight, they don't, and I wonder how his huge independent sponsorships like affliction will work out now that fighters can only be sponsored by reebok, as per ufc say
