Its British history so I thought this might just fit here.
Pretty amazing machine with  two Rolls-Royce V-12 aircraft engines rated at 2,350 hp each.
Its record speed was  345.49 mph -- a record that stood for a year, until fellow Brit John Cobb broke it a year later. You have to remember it was 1937 lol
Current record is also by a Brit. Andy Green reached 763.035 miles per hour (1,227.986 km/h!!)
