If women can serve in combat arms positions, why can't they be drafted?

Yes, since they want equality they should be drafted.

If we ever have a major war the draft will be resumed no question.

I'm not sure we will ever need it, given how large our reserve force is, but I think the main issue is whether they should have to register for selective service like all guys do.

Define "woman" ... don't you really just mean "a menstruating person"?

If so, sure.

IMO, if there were a draft, no.

There are badass women who serve, but the type of woman required to do that is the exception, not the norm.

Drafting all women would be a colossal waste of time.

They could serve in support roles no problem.

Don't care.

Basic training and everything would be a waste.

Don't need the inefficiencies.

Wouldn't those women be weeded out just like men who are unable to serve, just in larger numbers?

Much larger numbers.

I'd say 90%+ or more.

So a waste of time, money, and effort.

I would think women would be fighting against this kind of prohibition, because it's grounded on the view that they are not qualified.  Gender equity.

Wait.  Gender is a "social construct."

I actually want to see how women in general respond to this.  Maybe the Village Idiot can provide her perspective?

Look at most males these days that are 18-25.

Same deal.

Yeah.  A lot more would be disqualified today than back in the 60s and 70s.

Can't argue that.

I agree with your original premise though.

If we drafted 100k women and 100k men.

Far more women wouldn't make the cut.

It would be a disaster.

I doubt this will ever happen in this age of military technology.

A lot of my friend's kids are reaching the 15-20 age range.

It amazes me how weak and stupid they are.

My good friend's son is 18 and has never cut the grass or changed a tire before. Knows nothing outside of video games and movies.

Kind of scary.

Should that really be the standard though?  I understand the efficiency argument.  What about fairness?
