While he recommended eating Grape Nuts over eating pine trees (Grape Nuts' taste "reminds me of wild hickory nuts"), the quote caught the public's imagination and fueled his celebrity status. Johnny Carson joked about sending Gibbons a "lumber-gram", and Gibbons himself joined in the humor; when presented with a wooden award plaque by Sonny and Cher, he good-naturedly took a bite out of it. (The "plaque" was actually an edible prop.)

let me warn everyone be careful with brewers yeast i cant take that shit no more makes my bloodpressure skyrocket i think or makes my blood to thick where i dont feel like im getting enough oxygen, not a good feeling

id be careful with the pollen im sure it works maybe in the spring ill attain some pollen  but interesting to hear about my product

I have no problem with the concept of religion (I believe in God myself) but it bothers me when people feel like they have to force their beliefs upon someone else or think it has to be a public thing.

I don't know much about the midwest but I imagine it as a sort of place with really benign cowboy types, not the Southern sort of cowboys who would pull a pistol on you if you looked at them cross-eyed, but the laid back type of cowboys, the ones who lead massive herds through prairies then lay back to chew a long piece of grass or smoke a marlboro :)
