It's a short list of competitors. Now that everything on on the internet instantly, fans aren't going to the pro shows as much. The prices are insane too for tickets.

While not 100% complete yet, it does show that having a pro bodybuilding show not grouped with other contests can inhibit some of the top bodybuilders from competing. It they had grouped this show next to the NY Pro, perhaps, then there might of been a greater number of top competitors in it.
That being said, it is a great chance for the ones who are competing to get into the Olympia...

Dang, Don Long should have entered he may have made the top 8 ;D

That was the Tampa Pro show, which is still going on in August.

or perhaps its that coming in 5th at the Ironman or the Arnold allows you to sit out the rest of the year preparing for the Olympia.
if the Olympia were limited to the winners of the previous year's contests, then more top tier bodybuilders would be entering contests throughout the year.

top 5 at the Ironman does seem a bit much

Paco just needs a PR tweak or two. Maybe set up a 'Team Paco,' recruit some gimmick posters and keep bumping a thread titled 'Paco Nights.' ;)
-
Not a great line up there, would have been good to see some of the recently qualified pros like Ed Nunn for example competing, just to see how they will do before stepping into a show with the major top pros
-
For a strategic way of competing, for Ed Nunn and others, this would have been the show to compete in.
I think if you qualify for the Mr. Olympia, and compete there, the lowest prize money is $4,000?
-
I think he's taking a year off though like Evan did

While i would prefer to see more shows spread out for an entire calender yr, the world of pro BB never alinged much with that. It has been about peaking for a specific time period. I do admire the Pariso's for trying to put on another major BB event.
