America has the biggest baddest athletes in the world.
The Camels may win a game, the limeys, the whops,
but, all and all, U.S.A will dominate anything, anysport...
We had Elvis, Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps,
Ali, Sugar Ray Leaonard, Tyson, Thomas hearns, Mario Lemeaux,
Won the stanley cup, take the most medals home at every olympics,
and if for one we didn't, thats because the athletes turned pro. And this
is just a few of the thousands of athletes. I'm a patriot, but I'll call it as I see it as well.
America is about competition on every level, we've won 2 wars at the same time,
Dominated Hitler, Stalin and Communism the British, French, and the Indians,
and guess what? Its because all the best from other countries come here, to enjoy capitalism.
Foriegners are all OWNED!

I agree with the sentiments of Thomas Paine when he said the world is his country and all peoples are his kin. Some may view this utopian but its roots lie in the higher perspective where planet Earth is looked upon as one planet and we the human species are united by our common habitation, our common origin, and our common mortality. The actual is greater than the superficial and the certainty of death can be a driving force for solidarity and not a suppresed anxiety that drives us towards division and despair. Our connections are deep and our differences are at times shallow. This is my hope that we move towards a progressive world and leave behind the puddles we have wallowed in for far too long.

No we're not...maybe if you live in Sderot, but from what I know there hasn't been a rocket there for a while now. Mostly life goes on as normal especially in the northern cities where Jews and Arabs live together quite peacefully. In jerusalem where i live its just little things that happen, people being racist to each other, the ultra orthodox Jews getting pissy about some randomly meaningless thing which has 'offended them' that sort of petty shit. There were a couple of attacks a couple of minutes from where I live this time last year but mostly its fine, you dont really think about it.
If i'm honest with you the real shit happens in the Palestinian territories between the Jewish Settlers and the Pals, now that is an everyday problem which I have seen kick off quite a few times, and to be honest its normally 50/50 in terms of who provokes who, depends normally on which settlement it is and how hardline the Settlers or the Pals in that particular area are etc...but again most people apart from the settlers don't have any real need to go there so it feels disconnected. As for Gaza it may as well be New York, it doesn't feel close by or have any affect on my daily life.

It's a Long story, my dad's side is Jewish so I have some interest in it and am allowed citizenship. But I was raised protestant since my dad was an atheist and doesn't give a shit about that sort of thing, so its not really about any zionist or religious attachment. I think Hugo's comment may have something to do with it, but it was a long process of studying and learning then the right doors opened at the right times, and i got full funding to live here. Despite the problems i do enjoy living here, its like any country, it has its good and bad points, its just the bad points are sometimes more 'exaggerated' shall we say
