Even better, I drank with him. It was at the Arnold Classic prejudging. He was really flat and his tan was a bit off.
He had been favourite to win and just didn't nail it. So we went to the bar at the hotel and had a few drinks. He fixed up his tan and came back at night 20% better and won the show. Kevin was one of a kind and could change his look over a few hours and a few drinks.

Good work as always thony. Dude looks good and i liked that doherty shirt he had on. I lolled when he said something like "wonder how he would have looked with todays.....science"

I believe that that Sergio Sr was about 30 years ahead of his time. Never did cardio, worked 3 jobs and had very limited knowledge of science and nutrition.

When will your next Phil Heath interview take place? Will he touch upon his achievement of killing modern bodybuilding? Or his efforts to get cell phone usage increased in gyms??

The Ifbb really needs to start marketing these young guys so people can start following them. This guy even has name recognition for the real fans. Start marketing these guys so there's some excitement around the Olympia.

Great interview, Tony. I am all too familiar with family trying to stop weight training, especially bodybuilding. I can't imagine if those circumstances would have included my Dad being a former Mr. Olympia.

TRUE on that, he NEVER dieted until his last few contest when he was already over 40...
From the Dave Draper archive: Sergio Oliva was famous for swigging Coca-Cola and eating pizza while saying "Calories and water, Babeeeee!" (He would also use Blair's Protein and cream when wanting to gain weight.)

Seems ok, I guess, except for "it's not about drugs," which is laughably dishonest.

Genetically, though, think the apple might've fallen a little too far from the tree. Far enough that it rolled over to an orange tree, where it bumped into this guy.
