My NH town borders my old hometown of Methuen MA, so I'm always there.
Many times, I say "fuck, I have my gun on me".
Carrying in MA (over border) is a year in jail mandatory.

Background check, fingerprints, references, etc... took some time. It was quite a process.

Yeah instructor goes over a few pages, you take a quiz, and then you go to the range a shoot about 30 rounds.
Here, you can't open carry handguns.

Can't speak for now but, back in the day a representative from the county would call references and let them know if your permit got pulled.

They’re trying to pass a bill right now through the Texas Legislature that will speed up the process of execution in heinous crimes where there’s more than three credible eye witnesses.
If more than three people saw you do what you did, you don’t sit on death row for 15 years, you go straight to the front of the line.
Other states are trying to abolish the death penalty … my state’s putting in an express lane.

This approach should be the wave of the future along with things like being caught on video doing it. Truth be told, for the vast, vast majority of criminals they are caught red handed or with a mountain of evidence and that's why they plead. Guilt isn't the issue, just punishment.

Once, I caught a dindu and his friends taking out my screen to enter my apartment. I came to the window, put my 1911 on the table and said, "can I help you?". The lead dindu said, "just fixing your window, man" and ran away.
The second time was in a parking garage in Boston. Felt some guys closing and just swept back my coat to get a clean draw and they all recognized the motion and moved on quickly.
No gunfights, sorry.

Basically you just flip your poncho over your shoulders to reveal the gun, subtly shake your head, and spit some tobacco. Then they'll take a few slow steps back before they scurry off in different directions.

Good choice, small, concealable, and should be able to make a big hole. I like it. Can't go wrong with a Ruger. See my 357 Magnum Ruger on page 2. It's a little harder to conceal, but in the winter months with lots of clothing on, it's not too much trouble. Plus, the feeling of all that steel against my body really makes me feel manly. :)

It was late, the window was on the street level and I was asleep with the lights out. My guess is that they thought the apartment was empty. This was a nice part of town too, the Back Bay part of the South End in Boston.
