dogs are a dime a dozen. i wouldn't spend any more than what it takes to feed the animal on them. people buy pets--this is bazaar to me. there's tons of strays out there that are 10x likely to outlive these overpriced pure breeds. people turn to animals when humans disappoint them anyway.

If it is real why cyber beg? their are pet hospitals who will do the surgery without any money down! you pay them back monthly. but you really do not have to pay them! throw the bills in the trash ! It wont even fuck up your credit. who really has 7K just sitting around for dog surgey not many! this is pure cyber begging that is probably for some heroin/crytal meth addict! if they are not smart enough to find a friendly vet hosppital who works out monthly installments then these people are retarded! what vet hospital would expect you to have 7K on hand to pay for the surgery. truth is they will operate for hardly anything and bill you. and like I said you can take that bill and toss it nothing will happen to your credit. You know brothers I can understand where some of you are coming from. But really it is more complicated then just cutting your losses and putting down the animal. Allie is truly a part of this family.

There is more here to consider. My wife and I took Allie to the emergency animal hospital for treatment. They provided an initial evaluation estimation for life support, x-rays, etc of $1300. We didn't hesitate. We waited a few hours and they brought us into a room showed us her x-rays and went over the options. She had a fractured vertebra L7, 4 broken ribs and a small pocket of air restricting her breathing but she was very stable and pain well managed. They estimated $5500 for surgical repair spine and stabilize Ribs. We were in shock. The surgeon was not there so we went home to sleep on it.

The next morning I discussed the situation with the surgeon. He did not recommend it, but he said there was a possibility if we could keep the dog sedated and provide her excellent care that she might survive and recover with out surgery. Dogs are resilient right..? We decided to bring her home and care for her ourselves.

The staff splinted her from front to rear and said we could pick her up. My 14yo son went with me to bring her home. In trying to move her I was badly bitten. Allie does not bit, especially me. I was angry, but rather concerned. We got her in the car; she was becoming very agitated and crying like a baby. At that moment I knew this was not going to work. I called my wife, it was the moment of truth, but the surgeon interrupted me. He said leave Allie here for tonight. We won’t charge you for the stay and you can talk it over with the family. We got her back in the hospital and went home. Needless to say my son and I were both upset.

At home the wife and I evaluated the situation financially and spiritually. We talked it over with the kids and together we determined that there was only one course of action that would provide us peaceful pure hearts. I think really it is a matter of faith. All of us, including Allie Jo are very happy with our choice. Faith led us to the right decision.
