MK677 on a Keto diet?
« on: May 22, 2024, 07:43:38 AM »
Is it pointless to use MK677 if you're on a pretty strict low carb diet? Like consistently less than 30 grams of carbs for 4 months or longer.

Doesn't MK677 require carbs to get the full benefit of the increased GH?

Or am I way off base?

In theory, a keto diet would be ideal.  Elevated gh tends to induce insulin resistance over time, which is no bueno for your health.

Quote
Excess GH: 1) stimulates gluconeogenesis and lipolysis, causing hyperglycemia and elevated free fatty acid levels; 2) leads to both hepatic and peripheral insulin resistance, with compensatory hyperinsulinemia. Conversely, IGF-1 increases insulin sensitivity. However, in acromegaly, increased IGF-1 levels are unable to overcome the insulin-resistant state caused by GH excess.

I haven't used mk677 myself but I've heard it really spikes the appetite for some making it hard to adhere to keto.  I've also heard that you can remedy that by taking it before bed.

To me, it did the same thing as taking 10iu of slin and not eating afterward.

I've taken on a pretty strict keto diet and experienced none of the typical affects. No insane hunger, no lethargy, tiredness, minimal weight gain.

Ive taken it while not on any kind of diet and could not eat enough, I was constantly hungry, slept like a rock, I had pretty brutal lethargy, I had to really force myself to get up and do anything...but once I finally did get started I could get a decent workout in after I got moving. But the initial effort to get up and get anything done was pretty tough.

It was a lot more manageable if I split the dose in 2. And took it mid afternoon and just before bed.

While in ketosis I noticed nothing.

I took it once while cutting and the caloric deficit made me even hungrier than usual. The advantage was better regeneration and full muscles even with minimal carbohydrate intake.
