It seems for a certain group of people have started wearing eye glasses. Some sporting unusually short hair as well. That said, do you think they are prescription glasses? Are people bucking what they see as the norm of wearing contact lenses and reverting to glasses? Or, are they non prescription and just part of a “uniform” of these groups of people? I just read an article on BBC about protesting for human rights, and most at least in the picture, had this look.

When I started wearing my glasses, due to the fact my contacts were irritating my eyes, it may sound hilarious but people started to become more friendly towards me no joke. So these days I primarily wear my glasses and occasionally wear contacts.

It's the fashion trend for 2018, especially among women, and especially large or oversized frames. Part of the latest "Look at Me" phase that is fueled in a big way by Instawhore, er, gram.

I wear glasses because I can't see. People are wearing them for fashion. Especially women because they feel it makes a statement that they are intelligent. Many times looking at the glasses I doubt there is magnification in them.

Get lasik surgery.  You will never regret it.

i wear glasses since almost 20 years, looks good on me but i hate them. cant wear contacts more than 6 hours.

next month i go to a clinc for an 2 hour full check, if everything is good i will them have lasered.

Be forewarned about Lasik...you might be corrected to 20/20 when you are under thirty...but as you age, you will still become farsighted, and need glasses for close up.

Hmmm, I hadn't noticed that eye glasses had become trendy. But if they are, I fit right in. Mine are prescription glasses. I've worn contacts for decades, alternating them with eye glasses. Up until my current pair, I've mainly worn rimless or wire-framed ones. This last time, I picked out a version of horn-rimmed frames. The face frame is mat black, while the temples are faux, light-colored wood. They took getting used to but now I prefer them to contacts. My hair is beyond short. Nice to know I'm accidentally stylish. I get a lot of compliments on them, especially from younger folks.

LASIK is awesome. Yes, aging still happens. There is surgery for that to now.

I tried contacts numerous times but I can’t seem to get it right—I really don’t want to touch my eyeball.

The problem with that if you have strong glasses because you are near sighted you can have the reverse problem. Now after surgery you will need glasses for reading instead of needing glasses for distance. I will take having good vision for reading as my first priority and use glasses for stuff like driving.
