I agree that asking these types of questions of someone in a public forum is unnecessary and in poor taste. If you're just curious, ask him in private. Anyway, the answer is to always practice safe sex. A lot of younger people weren't around for the HIV crisis in the 80's when far too many people died of AIDS related illnesses. But, that is a poor excuse for not being informed today.
