It's an inflammatory condition.  Probably exacerbated by something she's eating.  Bread and/or refined sugars are the likely cause.

they also had thousands of years to adapt to this diet.
a disproportionate amount of them are now fat from the diet that is eaten today. same with africans and other non whites eating white diets. asians especially get fat on our food.
