Thanks for sharing MJ.Great genetics,hardwork and access to lots of pharma grade drugs,love it.

That era was bodybuilding imo,post all your pics of Arnold,Robby etc etc and I will be glued to the thread

I don't remember if I saw Robby at the gym or not. He did spend a few hours in our booth at the Olympia last year.

Yup...I got all the photos I personally snapped all laid out...and the scanning will begin!!

Goneaway...Big Mike Katz told me that a few years ago, Zane petitioned Ben Weider to start including the vacuum as a mandatory pose at the Olympia.

Needless to say, the query fell upon deaf ears

I will post some unbelievable photos of Dennis Tinnerino taken in my gym in 1981...he was posing for us, and he was in contest form...with no contest for him to compete in for months to come!

I mean, how often does that happen with guest posers today?

And, I swaer, even 20+ years ago, Tinnerino is showing width rarely seen even today...

Rich Gaspari in 1983/84 was the FIRST Pro BBer to STAY in contest shape all year round.

Unreal hardness on the guy, veins and cuts everywhere. Very inspirational.

Was a true champ...also on juice year round, lol.

No he didn't he was pretty smooth in the offseason although not fat by any means.

Shawn Ray and Jaroslav Horvath are the only last two BBers who I can recall that have done a vacuum. They're also some of the few who have had oldschool lines and waists, which is somewhat of a coincidence.

There could be problems with that, with people maybe having surgery done to create the look, and drastic measures like that, but it would be great to see more of them. Especially on guys like Dennis Wolf, Dexter, Vic, and the others who have nice trim waistlines to make the effect even greater.

I bet none of these pics were taken at World Gym. Joe did not like photographers in there. Very rarely did I ever see one allowed unless Joe said yes and Tony Nowak said yes. I loved it when Tony played bouncer at the gym

Actually I saw him guest pose about 10 to 13 weeks out from the Olympia back around 86? He was smoother than I thought he would be. I remember thinking that there was no way he would be ripped for the O. Damn, was I wrong.

Rich was ALWAYS in contest shape-always.

Since my buddy was his roommate, I trained with him in the off season a few times, and he was never out of contest shape.

Johnny...I did indeed see him guest pose in or around 1988 and he was not his ripped self....still impressive, though
