THIS show and Shawn Rays Colorado pro show are the two I am MOST intersted in traveling to and spending any money to see. Why?
Betty P and her hubby Ed are class acts and rare in this game. I applaud her stand to give female bodybuilders some respect. I did the NPC show back in 1994 before it was a pro am and boy did Ed and Betty give us all who competed first class treatment. I never cared for the O, these days it seems to commercial and over blown. To me, at this point, I think about who and what I support, NOT just who is in the show, etc. Ed and Betty P are folks we NEED in our sport and if you are going to go to a pro show consider their event, no matter what other events you attend.In the case of Shawn Ray and his Colrado show, I don't know Shawn on any personal basis, but he seems to have the business savy and brains to be really good for bodybuilding and help the sport's image overall. Plus, the Colorado pro looks like an awesome event. Just my 2 cents.

Will the wrestling be stopped during the posing of the IFBB Pro's, or will we have to hear bodyslams and steele chairs over the judges commands again? This was the worst part of the last europa show. During pre judging, no one had the sense to stop the really really REALLY LAME so called "Pro Wrestlers" from ruining the Pre-Judging. Yes part of the ambiance of the show is the Carnival like atmosphere that the Pariso's present, and it is fun, while the show is being prepaired, But come on, WTF, It is supposed to be a bodybuilding Show. Other than that, the show kicked ASS!!

It is not a lousy 10k. The entire amount for the Pro Show, including sanction is 60k, 100k if you add in all the other events. And then you have the other 100k of expenses. Last year we only lost 28k, not bad since Bulk lost 350k.

Yes, we do have more sponsor's this year, can we see if we can break even for once. Over 13 years we have been giving our money back to this sport and building this show, we can't lose money every year. Is there another active Pro doing what Betty is doing ?

This show will not go the way of the GNC or Bulk Show. I am not going to have a bodybuilder walk away with more money, and then the show not be around. That is not good for our sport.

Big prize money & even big names does not bring in the crowds, ask GNC.

And as far as the Pro Wrestling going on. At the EXPO, Everything will be going on, we have added 8 new events, so even louder & lot's of fun. The show did not sell years ago as just a Bodybuilding show. Only 30% of the fans that come to the EXPO are for the Bodybuilding. We have had to find ways to pay for the sport I love. So alittle atmosphere is worth it to get the General Public to come and help pay the bills for our sport...get it.

I will make a promise, when all the bills get paid from the revenue instead of our bank account, the prize money will increase.

A statement like 350k...not really a big deal. Mike the owner with Bulk has been talking about the 350k loss on all the boards since his show.

I am a big, big Mike fan, Betty was at that show, the reality is he lost 350k.

Pro Promoting is not usually profitable.

We actually could make money, if we just stop getting bigger and stop the growth. But this is our choice, to try and build this thing bigger.

We can afford to lose money becasue, #1 we hope we are investing into this event for our future, #2 I am so thankful Ed's a Pilot, makes a great income and all our income comes from sources outside of the sport.

Keep your day job, it allows you then to keep this as a hobby.

Betty and her hubby Ed are some of the best people you will ever meet in this sport. I would go to their show before the Olympia any day. Part of the reason I say that is they really do have a passion for bodybuilding and walk the walk not just talk the talk.

It would be fun to compete in the NPC part of the show on the same stage as the pros who come on later that night.
